This can be a make or break factor for just about any game. I mean if the game is hurting your eyes on a level that makes the game not worth playing your not going to play it. I recently tried out Everquest 2 F2P and man I made my way past one hour with the game and uninstalled it for the 2nd time. Some people are more prone to eyestrain then others. I could play Ultima online on a CRT to no end and have just minor eyestrain despite all the details
Games that are good to my eyes
Left for Dead 2
Duke Nukem Forvever
Games that I wish would go away
Rage (everything is in focus
Star Wars the old republic online
Skyrim
Rift Wasn't bad untill I upgraded my graphics card but with a lower end card it was pretty brutal sure you might run the game on low system requirments but all you get is eyestrain then what is the point ?

I dunno. I played for about 15 hours on teh first day of the beta. I was tired after that.
Play for fun. Play to win. Play for perfection. Play with friends. Play in another world. Why do you play?
Well, from what i understand what you are asking (if this game hurts your eyes) the answer is no.
Now I looked at your list, and I have to disagree with skyrim. Skyrim does not hurt my eyes at all.
I just had problems with all the SNOW in the game really.
I don't know how much Guild Wars 2 will strain your eyes, my eyes work fine.
The only time I've had issues with a game causing eyestrain, headaches and such, was when I enabled stereoscopic rendering and didn't realize it.
i slightly adjust the gamma on games sometimes. but my eyes usually never hurt unless im tired.
I have a antec 6 led bias light on the back of my led lcd and it works wonders. My monitor is calibarted to the best of my knowledge. With Star Wars the Old republic man that game just did wonders to my nervous system my feet tingled at the end of the game so I uinstalled it.
A mmo that was really nasty to me was AION online no shadows in that game just pure color end to end. It L@@ked nice but I couldn't get into that game.
Honestly it sounds like mostly a personal issue.
You may want to tweak your graphics settings a bit. Sounds like you may be overly sensitive to contrast, and more specific high values.
Lowering the gain / contrast, and possibly boosting the gamma slightly might help.
Other than that, I guess I'd just tell you to avoid the norn lands? Personally I haven't had my eyes hurt playing any of the video games you mentioned. And I'm extremely careful with my eyes (as they earn my living). Also, if you are playing in a dark room a lot, with a bright monitor, that would also put a lot of strain on your eyes (and is very bad for you).
I can tell you that this concern is a new one, and not something I've seen echoed anywhere pertaining to GW2. Overall the game is very easy on the eyes I'd say. However, there are lands with bright whites (the snow / norn areas), and there are areas that are more saturated than others (queensdale / human / sylvari zones). Probably the most rustic / dirty would be old ascalon, which is where the charr start out.
