Am stoked about a new Ultima game....... but without Richard Garriot ... hmmm could this be what Richard was talking about when he said he had a new project....... I doubt it, but I can hope that he has some involvement with it, will I try it? yes, can it live up to the legend that is Ultima..... I'll just have to wait and see.

Garriott has nothing to do with the Ultima IP anymore. He sold the IP and all rights to EA and that's the end of it.
Garriott is working on a new "social gaming" RPG called the Ultimate RPG.
Ultimate RPG is being designed to appeal to both casual and core gamers, and is planned to launch initially for iOS and Android tablets, with social and open web versions coming later.
Garriott describes Ultimate RPG as a successor to his previous games, and players will have the option to eschew combat entirely. In Ultima Online, he says, many players had characters who were combat-focused, but there were also many others who created characters working jobs like bakers or blacksmiths and never had them enter online battles.
will be interesting to see how both games do on the iPad
an f2p game can only be successful if it provides an edge to the players who are paying for the game. now the trick is to sucessfully giving the edge to paid customers while not making the game pay2win. but as far as i hav seen frm EA f2p games they are ultimate pay2win just like aeria games, gpotato, pwe and every other f2p publishers. but still, let's see what they are upto this time. i knw i am gonna be disappointed. but honestly if u think it through pay2win games only exist becos players want them, if everyone avoided pay2win games then games like pwi or shaiya or RoM wudn't still be rocking the f2p market. my honest opinion is that players are to blame for games being pay2win.
I not believe this game will be free, another fake free to play like star wars, wow, dungeons and dragons,conan.. games with locked content, level and characters
Really ? I mean what do you expect for free a top end mmo that you have to pay absolutely nothing for ? I don't think many people know what goes into running an mmo the servers alone cost a pretty penny to keep up and running not to mention programing and content updates to keep your current player base interested.
Exactly my point always. Wondering how many this players that would like to eat every day for free would love to run their own good restaurant for free. Invest a lot of money so that cheap people could enjoy for free.
From my experience from past with few of "free" games my discovery at the end of the month was that I was paying for so called "free" crap via various item shops and alike more than I would for dinner prepared by top chef on p2e basis. P2E=Pay to Eat. :-))
