They do have guns in Canada. And not all crime here in the US is commited via a gun in any way shape or form. There's stabbings too and just about everything else. Not to mention I've never heard of anyone getting shot over WoW here, or stabbed. So pround to be an American? Nah not really.
Nationality doesn't matter in this case. It could have happened anywhere with WoW access. This was just one person trying to hurt or kill another person for little or no reason, not that there is hardly ever a good reason for that.
Where this happened is insignificant. Saying you are proud to be Canadian because some idiot stabbed someone over a video game instead of shot him over it like they would have in the US is kind of ridiculous dont you think? What is significant is this was a very very stupid and idiotic act by a person against another. Period.

You know... outside of wackoland suing a prive person for "millions" is pretty useless considering that they will most likley not have millions and thus will have to be bailed out by the state... so in essence your tax money would go to pay for his social welfare check after you win the case against him... or if you loose you will have to pay a lot in court fees.
And it was not murder... a murder needs to be pre-meditated, whis would ahev been at worst man slughter or in this case, as noted in the article assault with a weapon.

The only reason why this story got any headlines is because it's WoW. People get stabbed or shot every week becuse of stupid arguments about foorball, baseball, cars, condoms... I was in a bar a few years back and there was a guy arguing about foorbal and I told him to calm down it's just a game - he broke my nose, so I retaliated by other means.
The guy should have gone over there with armed with a shotgun then the other WoW geek would have looked stupid bringing a knife to a gun fight.
So this guy goes over to a neighbors house where he hears an altercation occuring... and then is stabbed. It seems to me this whole thing could have been avoided if he had just not went over to a persons house who was screaming and acting irrational.
Sure the guy didn't deserve to be stabbed, but I mean common sense here people, if someones acting crazy, don't be near them, don't antagonize them, get the heck out of there!
