I'll buy it, just like I buy everything. And I will be happy to have GW2 sitting updated awaiting me when I get bored of MoP. Meanwhile I will kill zombies until GW2 is out.
Please learn how to use paragraphs (or at least spaces); the whole time I read that it felt like I was grading a paper written by a young teenager. With that said, the fact that you spent time out of your day in which to write a wall of text specifically centered to get a point that you hate WoW and to ruin the experience of someone who may or may not be excited for it was the cause of your folly. It did not represent you well, and simply made you look like a jaded, off-topic, troll with nothing better to do with his or her time.
There is a certain sort of etiquette that *should* be followed on the forums. While the happenings of such are very infrequent, those who represent themselves as you have are a part of the problem. Any and other negative feedback, good or ill, was represented in a quick fashion; it showed their disinterest while still respecting those who came here to discuss the simple issue of a release date. You showed no such courtesy, and thus I treated you like a child. Again, I am doing such as I have seen nothing to indicate that you are an adult who is ready to discuss the topic at hand.
The release date of 9/25/12 is a big topic for people, and they could do without your negative retort. You could have acted like a mature individual, expressed your displeasure with the game in a manner most respectful, and then sign off with a hope that people who enjoy the game still like it. You did not do such. Instead, you continue to make yourself look bad by not acting your age.
I have the utmost confidence that you are able to express yourself in an appropriate manner; I enjoy reading about other people's worries and concerns. I relish in the fact that there is such a diverse community with different thoughts and feelings. Though at the same time, there are those who do not exhibit the necessary maturity when it comes to posting on forums. They post without thought or reason, and tear down something with rage and bias as opposed to wishing the best to others, staying on topic, and expressing their opinions in an informed and positive manner.
Therefore, I would ask that if you respond to me again that you do so in an appropriate way. I love diversity of opinion; it's part of my career to analyze such things. Heck, it's what gives me a job. Though said opinions that I deal with as part of my career are peer reviewed and mature. Perhaps it is my own fallacies to expect others to act in the same way, or to display simple courtesy when addressing something that others may enjoy.
Hope you have fun with whatever games you do enjoy.
Let me respond to this one by saying you make very liberal use of the word such. Using such a word does not depict you as such an intelligence person. <- That was trolling.
Now, again I think you missed the point of my last post. Did I ever single someone out and put down their opinion? No. Did I presume to make assumptions about one's personality, age, and status in life? No. I think you did.
I'll keep this one short and structured since you love paragraphs. I stated my opinion on the game. Others stated their opinion on the game. Mine might have been a more "negative" opinion but it is an opinion nonetheless. i did not call anyone out, I did not say that the OP is a fool for getting excited about the game. I did not use the word "fanboi". You singled ME out, and began to make assumptions about my age, my maturity, and how I spend my time(to which you took time out of your day to put down a "child" by the way). You also said that my response made me look jaded and didn't place me in a good light. This is an online forum and I think anyone who really cherish's the opinions of faceless digital forum posters has something else coming to them, so I do not really "care" what I look like in the minds of people on forums. I log in for the discussions and the debates. It is a place of discussion and opinion, not a popularity contest.
If the forum moderators believed my posts to be trolling, don't you think I would be banned or temp-banned? That reminds me, you are not a forum moderator. You cannot "ask" me to do anything If I have an opinion, I'll say it. As long as I dont tear anyone down or single anyone out or verbally abuse anyone, I think its OK. I have not ruined anyone's day or experience by posting my opinion and if I have, thats THEIR problem for getting bothered by my OPINION.
I've no interest in the kung fu panda expansion but im sure it will sell lots.
it will sale less than cataclysm
Watch out buddy, theres an "advanced member" hovering around this thread that will jump on you in a second for having a negative opinion about the game. He will also try to correct your spelling.
They try to do to GW2 what WOTLK did to Warhammer.
With the business model of GW2, I don't see it getting Warhammered, Though I do believe GW2 will drop in activity but it will come back around end of October time.
We also don't know what ArenaNet may add into GW2 at that time, that is a month after launch and the time people usually expect something from the devs about where the game is headed... It does put a lot of pressure on them though, Orr better not turn out to be crap.

I agree. I think some people that will play both will stop playing GW2 in Sept, and come back toward the end of the year. However, it is difficult to attain activity numbers for GW2 as there are no subs.

This post I enjoyed reading very much. Though I made no assumptions about your age, as it was stated in your profile. Also, the words in red represent the main problem as a whole when writting in a flavor that specifically targets a community. If you did not care so much about what other people think of you (or your thoughts), then why did you write a mountain of text (which was off topic to begin with) about a game you also seem to not care so much for? Did you want to somehow make it so that they care about what you think, or convert them to your thought process?
It's a sort of contradiction that makes one quirk an eyebrow. Why would you specifically take time out of your day to bring down a game when people are having an overall pleasant discussion towards it? I actually respected those who gave a single line saying they hated the game moreso than your original post. There was just absolutely no reason whatsoever for it to exist, especially since you yourself condemned the prospect of caring what others think on the internet.
I don't think many people are bothered by the opinion that you think the game is crap; I don't recall chastising you for disliking the game. What I did feel was completely without class or etiquette was the fact that you would take the time to write so much about a topic on a thread that only announced the release date. It would be hardpressed for me to not call someone who put in such effort with their hate to not call them jaded. In addition, said person then negates what little explanation there could be by admitting they couldn't care less what others think (and thus the implication that others shouldn't care what he/she thinks) of them.
Honestly, what was the point in all that? What was described there that couldn't have been done with a couple sentences? What was expressed that couldn't also have been articulated in a more positive fashion? Even if you had said something like, "even though I dislike it, I hope you all enjoy it" you would have had me nod in acknowledgement to your words. But instead, you bring about your own opinions once more by stating (and again contradicting your words) your own subjective mindset when it comes to other games (in perhaps an effort to get people to come around to your mindset, which they shouldn't care about?).
It just seems like an ill written post to begin with. It is my own opinion that that it was written out of a sort of spite. No doubt, I would suggest anyone who would write such to seriously think about what they're doing. Why are they even in a forum of a game they despise? What was their intent? Did they just want to write an essay on why a game sucks, and that others are better? Even when all the thread was about was a release date? Especially when they themselves claim not to care what others think?
Perhaps I am holding others to unrelealistic standards here. Though when I know that I am arguably bias about a game, I typically avoid that forum and its threads. For example, I am belligerantly bias towards The Secret World. It is a game that I followed for a while, and I wasn't impressed. I also dislike the Box + Sub + Cash shop trio. Though in no where on this site would you see me passively attacking TSW players with my own opinion. They actually played the game more than I have; they know what makes it special through sheer experience, and I do not due to my own ignorance. It is a highly rated game on these sites for a reason, I'd wager. Just as WoW has so many subscriptions.
So you can say that you don't care what others think; you can spread your venomous words in the forums of games you do not like, but some of us are a bit more mature than that. It isn't indicative of how mature you are in real life, but in my own reasoning, at least here, it's a rather mundane thing to conduct oneself in. It may cause arguments, derail topics, and overall just make a place inhospitable. These are not discussions; they are just malign opinions that stink of bias.
Due to frequent travel in my youth, English isn't something I consider my primary language (and thus I obtained quirky ways of writing). German and French were always easier for me despite my family being U.S. citizens for over a century. Spanish I learned as a requirement in school, Japanese and Korean I acquired for my youthful desire of anime and gaming (and also work now). I only debate in English to help me work with it (and limit things). In addition, I'm not smart enough to remain fluent in everything and typically need exposure to get in the groove of things again if I haven't heard it in a while. If you understand Mandarin, I know a little, but it has actually been a challenge and could use some help.
Also, I thoroughly enjoy debates and have accounts on over a dozen sites for this. If you wish to engage in such, please put effort in a post and provide sources -- I will then do the same with what I already wrote (if I didn't) as well as with my responses to your own. Expanding my information on a subject makes my stance either change or strengthen the next time I speak of it or write a thesis. Allow me to thank you sincerely for your time.
MoP is the biggest failure wow expansion ever released to date
but hey have fun with jack black and pokemons
i know wich mmo is in every single way better than wow and 99.9% be the best mmo of the year...GW2 enough said
It's hard to take someone seriously when they speak of two products that have yet to be released.
Though I am quite happy with Guild Wars 2 based purely off of the beta events.
My gosh, not jumping on this guy? He said exactly what I said, just extremely concisely. I think that you just dont like me.
Oh no, I like you quite a bit. In fact, I take back my "trollish" comment in my first post.

**cut off for brevity:
So now, I am not being singled out because of supposed trolling, and now I am not being singled out for disliking a game...I am being singled out because I choose to be verbose. Because I choose to write more than one or two lines makes me an poor forum poster. Right.
The fact that I wrote a "novel" has nothing to do with whether or not people think highly about me. I wrote the long post because I am a spirited gamer and I have a spirited opinion about the MMO genre, in this case a specific game of that genre, WoW. So what if I write a bit more than the next guy? The discussion was about the game, not the person. You continue to harp on the person. I urge that YOU get back on topic and begin discussing the game, the release date and stating your opinions rather than harping on someone elses.
Let me ask a question. Will you retract all of your derogatory assumptions about me if I edited my original post to one line:
"Blizzard continues to release terrible expansions and lacks the development team and technology to keep up with the other MMO developers in the industry, to which I believe do a better job at creating an MMO"
If I did that, it would be a one liner..opinion just like some other folks here, and as short. What do you have to say about that now?

It would still lack the certain element of adding a more positive factor to the opinion. In addition, there's no reason to really judge a product that has yet to be released in such a manner. If it was changed to, "In the past...", along with the positive twist I may have responded as I have to others (or simply passed it by). Though that's perhaps going into a bit more depth than your question asks for.
Aside from that, I'm not asking you to change your post. I'm just responding to your comments as I genuinely do appreciate your time and effort in articulating new posts (after the first).
Off the record:
"These are the debates that I live for!"
I am enjoying myself as well.
EDIT: Got a phone call at my girlfriend's work that she broke her leg; going to drive there and take her to the doctor.

guess i wont be visiting this website for a while. it seems its gonna turn into Anet vs. Blizzard. you guys should just get over it. these are video games.
I was expecting it to be announced next month for release in Oct-Nov, but oh well, already pre-ordered. Don't believe the naysayers...There's a reason why so many people still play WoW...it's the best. period.
