Can we play this too?

AshluraAshlura Member UncommonPosts: 127

Im sure this is a retarded question, but I have never played anything but games that were published in the US.

Can the US players still play this game when it launches in Korea? I know they were allowed to play Beta etc, but can we purchase this game when it comes out? Will it be a digital download and we still have access to purchasing it?

Sorry, I've been playing MMOs forever, and again, I have never played a game that didnt launch is the US so Im ignorant to the possiblity of playing a game based out of another Country.

I think what they are waiting for is to find a publisher for Archeage, but I doubt we can play the Korean version. I do believe it will be released in North America. I hope so, it looks fantastic.

Darnt. Id like to play the Korean version. Not to keen on the dumbing down we tend to like here in the US. :)

Thank you for the quick response though.

i'm not sure if you can but it might be the kinda thing where even if you could you'd be at the mercy of 500ms lag because of being so far away from the game servers....

like many others i am planning on giving archeage a real good try when it comes to north america

RIP Ribbitribbitt you are missed, kid.

Im with you and to be honest, Id rather play a game gimped with horrible latency, than to play the garbage they have been releasing lately. I havent played an MMO for awhile now. I was impatient for a long time and I picked up tons of games only to be let down and shelf them.

I like old school style RPGs like Ultima Online. So ArcheAge is what I await and nothing else unless its a FPS. Ill play Planetside II for sure too.

Unfortunately the only way a Na player can play is if they are apart of the media or own or is apart of a gaming community, and are willing to do some PR for them.

Also if you have your own live feed or youtube channel dedicated to ArcheAge Xlgames will allow you to play as well. (ie like the yogacast guys)

If you think your apart of any of those then you can send a email to pr@Xlgames.com

This is the only legal way you can play....:(

    @Ashlura

    Korea Beta Version - nope.

Korea retail version once it release?  - don't know. If developer will not put IP ban or won't need Korea Security Number from players (some games do need it there which may some weird but it is true) - then sure you can.

Still it would be in Korean and with big lag.

You need a Korean social security number, South Korea wants to identify every online player with their real identity. Of course one can obtain one, but that is considered illegal, it's basically identity theft. Though they won't prosecute you for that, they will just filter all foreign IP's and ban them.
