Which servers do you folks feel will have the best competition and higher pops of pvp focused players/guilds?
I dont need to be on the best server but I certainly want to be in one of the best clusters (with servers rotating every 2 weeks).
Fact of the matter is after a couple months of the servers balacing the level of competitive pvp on the better servers will be much different than the low clusters.
Servers that are getting rolled get matched up against other servers that have not performed well (whether due to lack of participation or poor player skills). On the other hand the top servers that end up facing each other regularly will develope much better players/guilds, the competiiton level will be much higher and more players will be participating at all hours.
Which servers do you guys feel have already established the higher end communities?
Disclaimer: I have a few RL friends who will be rolling with me and they are not into the competitive scene so transfers down the line would not be an option for them. Where I select during EA will most likely be my home forever.

How do we know what servers will be available at this time? I can't imagine how anyone would have a clue until we have live servers to see where individual guilds and alliances head
Darkhaven has been consistantly the highest scoring server in WvW through out beta, and will probably carry through to launch because the communities have established themselves to some degree already.
Sea of Sorrows is a consistantly great one too.
The launch server list is supposed to be what the last beta's server list was, as in it's not supposed to change.
Is Darkhaven the 4chan one?
My theme song.
My guild was on GoM and we utterly and completely crushed Darkhaven.

Was there s specific reason your guild made the move to Blackgate for launch?
Yes we wanted to move away from the large alliances and have found several like minded guilds that plan on rolling Blackgate. Decisive Action made the decision to play on GoM for BWE3 a month before any large alliance announced GoM as their server for BWE3.

That was a weird BWE. I was on FA and while I personally wasn't doing a WHOLE lot of WvW, I was aware we were paired with GoM two times consecutively (and then again at the stress test). And we destroyed you guys the first time. I wonder what changed from Saturday to Sunday.
The horrible que bug that allowed unfair number advantages on Sat. It affected all the matches on Sat. Anet patched it and it improved Sun.

Joining a competitive guild or alliance and rolling on the server they select is really the only way to ensure you have like minded people to play with.

Here's a list of server communities. It's outdated though.
I dont think people will want to join the so called hardcore PvP servers, as you might be in queue all night to enter the WvWvW playgrounds.
But then people dont know what they want, so all so called hardcore PvP players please join the same server, so you can start complaining right from the start.
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
I'm on Jade Quarry all the Darkfall guilds are on there.
List of guilds for Jade Quarry can be found here http://www.jadequarry.com/main
Also, if two sports teams play each other 10 times, the same team usually won't win all 10 games. Just because you win one round doesn't mean you wouldn't lose if you played again. It just means you won that one round.
actually you cannot tell yet which server will be the most competitve until launch.
if you based it during bwes, there were several servers.
bottom line is all the servers will be competitve after launch.
lets say you joined server 1 and matched up against server 2 and 3
server 2 is winning youre gonna think server 2 is dominating.
then this guy is in server 4 and matched up against server 5 and 6
server 4 is winning, same thing theyl think.
so you cant really tell if your server is the best because you dont get to fight all the servers alteast yet, who knows.
This is exactly what we with our guild are trying to avoid. We we're on Desolation (EU) since BWE #1, but after all the "advertisement" the servers gotten (and the massive queues on BWE #3), it's pretty certain we will skip the server and join a more peaceful, less "egoist" server to do WvW.
Specially that Kaeyi dropping her ass on that server with her "lovers", it's going to be hell on earth..
for all the betas though as far as the scoring goes.
Fort Aspenwood scored the highest.
not really a fair judging as some servers weren't present for the entire thing and some changed quite a bit over the entire betas.
but even in BWE3 FA did well.. and considering they aren't one of the high oceanic population servers like Sea of Sorrows or Gates of Madness it was impressive.
it is hard to compete with one of those unofficial oceanics! they are on in force all night long racking up what are practically free points if they get paired with 2 non-oceanics. for that reason if you're only concerned with winning points GOM or SOS would be a good pick.
All that can be done is speculate which servers will probably dominate. Check which PvP based guilds go where and form a list from that. Judging WvW based on BWEs is rather useless as a lot of people most likely won't be playing on the same server. Furthermore who's to say people will actually do the same thing when the game goes live. For all we know some people avoided to much of either PvP or PvE to not get to burned out to fast.
But if someone does manage to make a list please post it. I'd like to avoid those servers as they will also have the largest percentage amount of epeeners. PvP brings out the worst in people a lot of the times in my experience.

'Last place' even starts to mean very little with the matching system, if you are just looking for a fun PvP experience rather then any kind of e-peen badge.
This is actually an overlooked benefit to ANet's system for WvW... it will help naturally segregate the servers according to play style and personal needs and allow a server culture to not be dominated by the hardcore PvPers screaming abuse at the socialisers/ PvEers/ crafters (see: Aion) for playing the way they enjoy.
This can only be a good thing.
