Anet why not just pre-launch the head start now? :D
  • elockeelocke Member UncommonPosts: 4,335
I think they should have just one long continuous stress test until launch.  :D

After several stress tests for EU people, one for US. Too bad for me its from 3:00 to 7:00, can't be arsed to get up that early or stay awake that late. Have some well deserved fun, US guys :)

Played last night - my Lord I wish it were two weeks from now!

Same here. I've played in every BWE and in every stress test (including yesterday's), today's will be the first one I miss. My wife and I are going to the beach this weekend!

Funny, I'll be going on vacation with my family to Colorado from August 24th to September 3rd!! After waiting for 5+ years for GW2, I'm going to miss the first week of release!! (though I will miss GW2, family comes first).

Wow. I salute you for having that discipline. I told my fiance that I won't be able to be bothered on August 25th. Hahaha. Our wedding is only weeks away so I'm making sure I've done all I can before I dive into GW2. :P I'm buying her a copy too, so I hope she'll like it!

It's excellent news because between yesterday and today I finished upgrading to my new gaming PC so that's is now ready for some serious GW2 testing to see how it will perform in the live client.  After trialing it today in TSW and maxing out all the settings and getting excellent fps even in London I'm very hopeful GW2 will run well tomorrow morning.

And what if, you never really know, they decide to have a Stress Test on Saturday too?

My wife and I really need the break, we're being worked to death! haha However, my wife is going to be at work late today, so it would have been a rush tonight to get to the hotel. All we did is change it from a two night to a one night. If there is a stress test tomorrow then I guess we'll miss it.

I absolutely love the fact that ANET is actually doing TESTS and improving the game.  So many games in the past launch a OPEN beta or something and never really impove upon anything or claim to remove some "place holders" (wink).

I'm personally extremely happy to do these tests and help ANET improve the game for us.  Its a priviledge even if I paid for it.

To a lot of us gamers, my wife and I included, we are on the precipice of greatness.  If you have realized the revolutionary experience Guild Wars 2 offers us like my wife and I have then no its not pathetic at all.  I'm sure there are countless of us who are moved by this game in similar ways.

I think of gaming as I do any form of entertainment including going out to dinner or to a theme park ;) we are just able to do it within our own homes.

i concur its entertainment. dont think of it as a bad thing. and another thing, on top of it, it's you and you're wife playing together. so thats pretty awesome.

Good they're doing one at a time that more NA folks are able to make it. And for us euros that it's on a friday, addicted as I am already to this game I'll definitely be playing from 1AM and probably will wake up with WASD on my forehead coz I've been up since very early this morning.

So another few hours and we can play?
  • grimm6thgrimm6th Member Posts: 973

sigh...This is the first one where I can't play...Starting from when I leave for work to an hour before I get home :-(

    Oh well...Work is work.

I used to TL;DR, but then I took a bullet point to the footnote.

i think they are more like prelaunch tests

there one thing differnt about the stress test then the BEW the BEW said they start at 12 Noon PDT but every one started about 2 hours before that time so you had players login over time.

with the stress test they turn the servers on right one time so there are a lot more players logging in at the same time.

    I'm IN:)

I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at a store, oftentimes, I will drop it... so that it achieves its maximum flavor potential. --Mitch Hedberg
