Hello everyone,
I liked the game alot at launch, I think most people do in respect to new games coming out.
For myself, I found the content great, quests were fun, I liked the way you had to figure things out, even though a few people tried to ruin that experience by posting in general chat the answers to things.
A few bugs here and there but they get to them, I wasnt expecting a "RIFT" type experience in respect to a polished launch product. I was kind of annoyed but I found you can just pick up another quest and "pause" the other one.
One thing I did not like was no respec of abilities, no reset. I understand that dont really need it in this game, but for a new player starting, I think that option might come in handy sometimes. For myself, I dont have a lot of time to play, so I dont care to redo old quests or attempt new ones with harder content on a bad build, just to get the points to start going in another direction.
Quests
The quests, are amazing! Loved the concept and I dont want to spoil anything so I will stop there, but let me just say it is something very unique and worth exploring.
Redoing quests however, "eh" Not so much the challenge since I already know what to do. Found myself sprinting through things, missed that mystery whats around the next corner feel to it.
Graphics
The content was pretty cool, nice graphics, pretty scary at times which I liked! A little on the gloomy, dark side but I guess thats the atmosphere of the game. I ran it on a i3 integrated hd graphics laptopl. It was ok on low settings. Personally I think if you own anything that has less that 512mb video your going to see a lot of choppy and hard to play movements, so you old folks get ya a cheap i5 system!
Weapons
Weaponry was ok, good to start with, but Im a rocket launcher kinda guy myself. Was kind of expecting to see a bit more weaponry.
Crafting
Crafting is eh, I personally like complex systems, things you have to figure out, like the "Asherons Call" spells in the old days before tapers, or even the "Fallen Earth" recipe book design would be pretty cool to use in this game. In this game its just a standard template for design.
One thing I noticed like many others I imagine was the lack of armor! There is no armor to wear, just clothing, cash shop, marketplace, ingame shop type clothing. The protections and progression is rated through the talismans and weapons you use and wear. Which is, "eh" I had envisioned something a little more, considering were going up against some pretty nasty critters and my lil dapper suit I just dont think is gonna keep me from getting cleaved in two or three pieces!
You can design unique items, and I found a few nice recipes but once you know them all, thats it. Your also limited in resepect to how to craft, like you cant mix offense with defense and I think for a hybrid playstyle that would be important, a person should be able to craft that in my opinion.
PVP
PVP, well to each there own, if your the kind of person that can figure out a build that will allow you to do dmg and take dmg and kill lots of people, then you will like this. However, if your like me and on the losing end of that stick then your not going to do much except allow that said person an easy kill. It was cool running with a group of people, but not so cool when we ran into a bigger group of enemies lol. First few times, ok I was having fun, the 20th 30th, 40th respawn time, I was lookin for an exit. Thats just me though, I am not by any means a pvp type of guy.
Overall
What got me in the end though wasnt the bugs, or lack of whatever, or the few people in general throwing spoilers out, it was standing in Agartha and I was just watching the flood of people in Looking for group chat, "end gamers" they were needing to do dungeons over and over to get to that next upper tier or progression and that kind of grind just doesnt appeal to me.
Games that do that, I think appeal to a certain following of people and unfortunately, I am not one of them. If they change this though, I would resub in a heart beat, love the concept of the game.
Overall this game has room to grow in all regards to bugs, content, quests, weaponry, maybe even armor one day. But, unless the grind to get higher level items is changed, I cant play it.
Its a show stopper for me, "EQ2" did the same thing and I dropped that when I found myself trying to get into raids so I could get some dumb shield that would of been outrated in a few months anyway. I felt like an overwieght hamster being fed on a wheel! Its actually "EQ2's" fault I am like this now, they have broken me! So there is my plug to blame SOE ! lol j/k EQ2 is a fine game too. Its not them its me!
Kinda a conspiracy nut myself so I felt at home in a way. Kinda miss it though which sucks too.
Anyway there ya go, dont go for the mean hype or whatever, some people have an agenda, but give it a play and make your own decisions is what I always say.

Many don't seem to get what the end game in TSW is designed to be. There's monthly content patches for a reason.
If people want to just stand around, trying to just run dungeons, its what they've limited themselves to.
