Gaming is a relatively cheap hobby so thats a big no for me.

I can afford box price/sub fee etc. I dont mind cash shops unless they have power items (p2w).

If you cant afford 15 bucks a month as an adult... for a hobby you spend a good amount of time on.. I feel bad for you.

God, one month of playtime is 1-2 bottom shelf drinks @ the bar. What other hobbies offer such cheap enjoyment.

This notion is misguided. It's not about affording $15 a month, most people can do that, it's about throwing that $15 a month away. Naturally someone who plays daily is going to get more out of that $15 vs. someone who can't, or just is too busy that month, yet pays the same amount. There are many who find the typical sub fee obnoxious considering how much they actually play the game, and pissing away money regardless of the amount tends to rub people the wrong way.

You also have the competition factor. Lots of good games are f2p or some mixture of at this point. But that's sort of a whole other discussion, I don't want to turn this into a p2p vs f2p thread, there are tons of those already.

But that same comercial might make a lot more sense and actually ADD to the immersion of walking through a sci-fi setting subway or something. Somewhat similar to how the movie based on Philip K. Dick's work, the Minority Report, in the future, it would not be uncommon to see commercials like that.

It made me laugh imagining this actually happening in GW2, haha.
