Guild Wars: Collector's Edition Announced

ArenaNet announced today that they will be offering a very special "collector's edition" of Guild Wars that will be available in North America. Details of this item are below:

A special North American Collectors Edition of Guild Wars will be available on the date of the game's release -- April 28th. The North American Collectors Edition will include the following:

Guild Wars The Game
Guild Wars Music Sound Track CD
Guild Wars Full-color hardcover Art Book
Speakeasy; Teamspeak - 3 Months of FREE Service
Guild Wars Logitech Headset
Exclusive In-game Item, the Divine Aura

Only an elite few gain the attention and favor of the gods, but those who do receive a celestial gifta Divine Aura, a glowing visible token of their gods blessing. When players purchase the Collectors Edition of Guild Wars, each of their characters will receive this unique in-game item. Characters who equip the item are surrounded by a unique aura determined by the god who has bestowed it, and the item itself has a shape and color distinctive to that specific god. Once blessed by the gods, Divine Aura stays with a character; it cannot be traded or given to others.

The suggested retail price for the Collectors Edition is $79.99. Contents and pricing may vary outside of North America.

Why do you supposed you need three months free service? Did this change to a monthy subscription?

Overall a pretty poor looking collector pack. You can download team speak, the headphones look like the leftover Logitech headsets from UT2K4. The only thing cool is the ingame item. If the artbook was hard cover then at least you would have another reason to buy it. How about a DVD with the making of.

Overall Blizzard is still the champs in making collector sets. They give you enough items to make it worth double what they ask.

Well that makes sense. I coulda swore that didn't say that this morning, but I was still rubbing sleepies from my eyes. Looks summat decent. $30 for all that.

i definitely want the collectors edition, not only does it have some great extra's but the free 3 months of teamspeak is well worth the extra price, i use teamspeak on city of heroes now and it makes all the difference when traveling in a team if u dont have to type everytime something important comes up.

i personally think it's a great deal, as for the headset i bought the same headset it shows at a retailer just 1 month ago and it cost me $20.00 so u r basically getting all the other extras for $10.00
