    indeed.

by that logic every thread has no point and a waste of time and if you're going around saying you're 75 and deceiving the community on here all you've done is add yourself to the POS group that goes around trying to ruin the game community.  Grow up and help improve this site rather than jump aboard the plane which has lately been going downhill with, trolls, haters, fanbois, apathetic, over zealous, irrational, over defensive, too serious, kidish, poiintless arguing, repeat arguing, repeating looping threads, my game is better than you game and so on.

I read the threads I wonder if any one of these posters work in the industry and if they do shame on them and if they don't well they wouldn't make it any where at my company.

That's awesome, guy. However,  I was replying to a topic that had a link to general TSW forum about ages. I also didn't say I tell people I'm 75, I just said it's possible one could. It basically had nothing to do with your drivel. Your rage is strong, very strong.

acutally you did.  its your apathetic attitude towards someons opinion

Oh okay, so what are we talking about now? People don't lie? People don't lie when stating their age? People don't use false/other people's id's to get into bars? People don't use age as a tool for measuring IQ?

My main point actually, was that you can't try to pigeonhole people due to their age, because on the internet everyone is what they say they are.

I'm sure the OP is competent enough to take the information here and in game to come to his own poll results.  But its a poll whether its tainted or not it was created by someone asking for a simple answer wether it was false or true and again i'm sure he can figure between those who lie and those who don't.  Like you I don't think he'll find the correct answer here since its not the greatest community but I'm not going to stop him or tell him otherwise as it is his own purogative.

Hope you realize that the poll isn't on this site. We're discussing a poll that is on the official tsw forum here man. I can't "taint" it. I merely commented on it, because there's a topic for it here...

Conversation ended then.  Either way its his opinion which didn't need to be downplayed/ apathetically critized.  If you don't agreee with it then bring evidence to the table rather than posting something that is rehotoric .

I'm free to comment on anything I want here. You don't decide what I can or cannot say. You can't demand evidence for my initial comment, because there's no need to have any. If you don't understand people lie on the internet, it's not my problem. There's nothing I said that was wrong.

Go ahead say what you want but if you wnat to prove a point evidence is usually the best way to do it.  Where does it indicate I dont' understand people don't lie , infact I said I agreed with you that people lie.  you might want to reread it.   addtionally I didn't saying anything wrong with your comment but rather critiqued your comment as you critiqued the OP's.

I commented on the POLL. I said it's pretty pointless, because everyone can be 75 on the internet. What exactly are we arguing, if you agree with that as you say?

honestly we're probably aruging for the sake of aruging which seem to entertain on this site

I agree. I also wish to argue with you another time, have a good time in whatever game you choose to play.

agreed hopefully GW2 fills that void

If you like ranked battle grounds I think it will. I still feel that the game is lacking in depth and challenge. Something a lot of us older gamers crave ;)

You make hate posts about GW2 more than you make your ridicilous love posts for TSW. Scared? Job threatened?

I'm not buying either game, but it's just amusing at this point. It got past slightly amusing like a few weeks ago btw.

I've always said I was buying.  You should too if you can finda a reason. I asked a lot tough questions and cut through a lot of the bullshit to find something I liked about the game. How long will I like Ranked PvP? I don't know we'll see. For me that's the only part of the game that's free from the taint of the cash shop.

What games do you like, or do you just hate everything? If you want a game with mature themes try out TSW the average age of people playing seems to be older.

As I see it the whole MMO genre is dying. Games like DayZ offer much more in terms of content, they do not restrict you with ridicilous things like AoC and STO do. Even Skyrim is better, even though it's a singleplayer game, but I believe a mod is coming out/is out for multiplayer. Attempting to be a sub game in this current F2P environment WILL NOT work. WOW can do it, because they've always been the anomaly. No other game than WOW can stay as a P2P, because it's just more popular than like 100 MMO's piled together. WOW can also have a P2P+cash shop+expansions you have to pay for, because they just can, Funcom can't. It was foolish for Funcom to think they could, they fucked up big time there.

Funcom also has a terrible reputation from AoC, they will not be able to swipe that under a rug. People remember when they get burned. Asking for a box price+sub+cash shop for this game was a huge mistake, don't know why they didn't see it. Obviously they're seeing it right now. Their main milking cow has probably peaked right now.

I haven't even written off GW2 completely, but it'll take a lot of watching of streams before I'd even consider it.

Not sure what all the arguing is about.  I just thought it was an interesting thread on the forums.  It may or may not truly be indicative of player ages.  In my experience, the player base seems more mature to me.  Just my opinion.

The game is definitely for adults, story is mature, no cutesy animals, no fantasy pony world setting. Obviously rated "M" for mature, partial nudity, violence, drug references, horror elements...

As well as some of the quests require you to think  and working out the synergy between skills is not fun for kids.

I wonder who Funcom's target audience really was. I bet they didn't count on the majority of their player base being over 30.

Sorry to necro the thread, but I just stumbled across it and would like to correct a couple of obvious misconceptions.

First, the average age of computer gamers is 30.  http://www.theesa.com/facts/index.asp (Though some studies I've seen place it closer to 34. And there is always a margin of error so it could be a bit lower - or a bit HIGHER.)

This isn't surprising to me in the least as I'm a long time member of OTG - That's The Old Timers Guild. I'm well past 30 - I have kids almost that old. I'm sure most of you have seen OTG in-game somewhere at some time. (Any game - we're everywhere - check the list of in-game guilds next time you log in to your favorite. - Most likely you'll see we're there.)  So I'm kind of surprised at the number of posts that were surprised there are older gamers.  By the way, the southern hemisphere counterpart of OTG is TOG - The Older Gamers. Old folks love to have fun - and can afford to.  :)

Second, the idea that us 'old' folks can't game.  As my kids were growing up, their friends would sometimes express astonishment when seeing me playing 'their' games. (And usually a bit of admiration  - especially at my 'uber' rig - I build my own PCs, have a job and can afford good stuff.)

As I would tell them, "No, my generation didn't have computers and video games when we were growing up ...  So we invented them." Don't act so surprised that we can use them too.

It's definetly a major part of what attracts me to the game.  It's nice to have a game without all the  immaturity that normally comes with most MMOs.

    Currently Playing: World of Warcraft
