You can reach level 80 by crafting, and/or never even leave the starting zone.

But I'm not sure you could make it to Zhaitan in 3 days.

On the opposite extreme, I only made it to level 22 in 3 BWE's. (Granted, I messed around on some other characters.)

Is there?  I fail at using the search then, cause I searched for "level 80" "max level" and "level cap" and didn't find anything.

My bad if there is one.

The search feature isn't so good here, it's probably buried in pages and pages so no worries.

Agreed that there will be a number of people who rush to level 80, of course I feel that they are missing the whole point of the game by doing that, but everyone has their own way of playing. By the time that I got onto the third BWE I was not even looking at my level, mainly because I was more interested in exploring the world.

With the way that the level progression works, I would expect to see 80s by the end of the headstart, of course they will be back to level 3 as they explore other starting zones, but yeah they will be 80...

Fore sure it will be before the end of the headstart. And like most people here it won't be me. I don;t want to rush and even if I wanted now a days I have only a couple hours to play everyday.

I think my total levels (all characters added) over 3 beta week ends plus all the stress tests must be like 80sih. But as I said, it's all my characters added (highest being a level 27 warrior and a level 22 guardian).

LOL. /agree  Like many who responded, I am going to take my time. Being an altoholic I am not sure that I will ever get a toon to 80 but I am going to have fun along the way!

Can't wait for the obvious thread after 2-3 days. "Reached level 80, finished the game here are my thoughts"

Remember... all I'm offering is the truth. Nothing more.

If they want to rush let them, but they better not complain about it once they've done it because that'll annoy the crap outta me.

I plan on taking it slow complete every map as it comes as well as leveling crafting on side! Not to mention exploring the Charr main city! SO MUCH TO DO so little time

Might be longer since Orr is driven by DE that takes more than a few people to succeed. But yeah, some people will want to finish the endgame as soon as possible.

This is my thought as well, I posted something similar in a thread about rushing to 80 but it was ignored.

I wouldn't aggressively try to grind exp in some way that was boring (not enough payoff for that) but there's no real reason to go out of your way to level slowly either.    All leveling really does is open up more content.   It doesn't kick you out of content so you're welcome to hang out wherever you want and it'll scale you down for it anyway.   Doesn't really matter whether you visit that 30-40 area when you're 30-40, or whether you're 60-80.

Even at 80 there's a reason to get exp (skill points for legendaries if nothing else) so it's not like you won't want to continue roaming around exploring/DEing etc at 80.

Three days, tops before the first 80.  Maybe sooner.

I give you four days before those same people start complaining about being bored.

I'll give you one month before those people have already moved on to hyping for the next big game.

    Happens every time.

If in 1982 we played with the current mentality, we would have burned down all the pac man games since the red ghost was clearly OP. Instead we just got better at the game.

Because I'm an altaholic, would 8 level 10's qualify me?

By the time the game launches (28th) there will be already the first level 80

I'd say the first person to 80 is likely the person who "gets" the game the least.

    3) An insane number of people will make weak "doom?" predictions as a result.

    4) I will sneer in derision at the prognosticators and charlatans and mystics, as always.

this is valid, but i wont be rushing.

(i have returned to low zones in BWE 2+3, and even though it was only a difference of 5 levels, i felt like i was steamrolling mobs.)

i hope that by taking my time, and doing zones "at level" it will be more challenging. i prefer multiple deaths over feeling like i can steamroll content.

First 80 will be inside of 48 hours of headstart. No problem.

And the person who pulls is off needs to be ridiculed mercilessly.

    All die, so die well.

My bet is around 36 hours

But i expect to be surprised and see people level 80 even faster, some people learned during BWEs  hell i would not be surprised to see people leveling to 80 during a stress test.

Is not who level to 80 in 3 minutes that irk me, is who do it and then start posting:  "OMFG GW2 sucks nothing to do after 40 minutes of play, leveled to 80 won 7 WvWvW and did all the dungeons  , now after 24 hours of play nothing to do, launched with no content "

yeah, there will be "those people", but we will still be playing the game and having fun instead of hanging out here reading their bullsnot posts.

Well if you think about it by the entertainement value, that isn't bad! That comes out to about $1.60 an hour. Seven years of Anet team worked completed in the blink of an eye!

At least unlike WoW, they can come back and start the game and play it the way it was designed and it will still be a challenge. :)

Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.

  • ArchaegeoArchaegeo Member UncommonPosts: 233

Remember level gain in GW2 is linear so each level is meant to take the same amount of time to achieve after level (15?).

Thus if they just grind out the levels, ignoring content, or just getting it in wvwvw, it should be quick
