Rarely do I respond to an article, or a poat really at all. I'd like to say this has been a really weak post, no real substance here, write about classes you played, saw, and how they dominated. Not just a quick bio that can be found on the games site.

This overview is not really helpful, I expected something more like this:
Necromancer
Has a lot of survivability, but lower DPS than others. If you like to outlive your opponent, this is your profession. I like the animations and the opportunity to shapeshift. However, some players were disappointed by having only 4 spells in Death Shroud form.
Ranger
The ranger is more or less what everybody expects. The pet is not very strong, yet the ranger can be very good at melee. Due to ones build there is some good CC or group support, too.
Thief
Cannot be invisible permanently and cannot kill opponents with a few strikes. Is a little squishy in Dungeons, because he cannot survive long in Melee-Range and staying in range all the time is not satisifying. Shines in PvP, the right prof for players who like to move and jumpg around a lot.
Engineer
Beta left a lot of questions open concerning this prof. May still need some love from ArenaNet and definitely needs love from a player, who wants to master this prof. One guy in a video did well with pistol/shield. The Engineer can do a lot of different things in battle with all his kits, support looks good.
Warrior
Fun class, straight forward melee with a great variety of weapon-choices, surprisingly good from distance. In PvP everybody should try a build that includes the shield. If you want to play melee and you are unsure what to choose, try this one!
Elementalist
As fun and good as the Warrior. Testers loved this prof a lot. A very flexible prof, damage, CC, support, this one has it all. The change between elements feels very natural and logic. If you want to play a caster/ranged prof, Ele is highly recommended.
Mesmer
This prof was highly anticipated, some testers loved it others found it far too squishy. I would say, this is the same situation like with the engineer - if you want an interesting prof and are ready to commit a lot of time, try it. The Mesmer has a lot of tricks to fool his opponents, however, they do not work as easy and direct as some testers would have liked it.
Guardian
The Guardian combines high survivability with great support and was definitely op in PvP. So expect some nerfs. Has almost no ranged damage. If you like to support your allies and annoy your enemies by taking a lot of damage, choose this one!
