Any New Information On Linking GW1 To GW2?

I, like many I'm sure, got a Guild Wars 1 account after I bought Guild Wars 2 for the HoM items, so I didn't get to link them up.

Last I saw, there was discussion of an ingame item being used to link GW1 to GW2 accounts. Have they released anymore info on it in the past few weeks somewhere? I would have expected something about this seeing as headstart is in a few days.

 

This is all I have seen on the subject so far. I'm wondering where do we get this item, does it appear in our backpack, do we go to a certain vendor?...

According to Guild Wars 2 developers, you will have the option of "Declaring your ancestor" to receive the Hall of Monuments rewards by linking your Guild Wars 2 game account with one Guild Wars game account.[2]

  • You will be able to link a single Guild Wars game account to your Guild Wars 2 game account at any time after creating your Guild Wars 2 account.
    • Only accounts with the Eye of the North expansion and who have unlocked the Hall of Monuments are eligible for rewards.
  • After using the item, you will visit the Guild Wars 2 version of the Hall of Monuments, where you can claim your rewards.
  • This Hall of Monuments can be visited by any Guild Wars 2 character and as often as you like.
