Anyone know how to get signed up for the OCT PC Beta? I was in the first beta and would really like to be in this beta. I can see FFXIV making it big with the fixes in the game becuase the core world was amazing compared to other MMOs with all instances and zones.

I keep my eyes open daily but nothing yet. Haven't subbed for about 2 months though so I assume it's going to be something along the lines of "players with a sub for at least "blank" months will have priority access."
I just tried, you must have an active FFXIV account for that offer.

Wait, if you own FFIV 1.0, then you do not have to pay anything extra for FFIV 2.0 when it releases?
If you're trick works, and that $12 gets you into the beta as well as the "purchase" of 2.0, then that is truly an amazing deal and something I'll have to do.
Yes that's true, if you subscribe to the current version you don't pay extra for their reimagining. I would venture to guss that even if you don't subscribe but purchased the current version you would just have to redownload it at no cost.

That is very interesting. Currently, you can purchase either a FF 14 1.0 game for $12 or FF 14 2.0 game for $40. If it's the same game, I wonder why they're even doing this....no idea, but I'll probably purchase the $12 version just in case I can get into the Alpha/Beta.
On that note, do you think that buddy keys will also work for getting into Alpha? I mean, if a buddy key will be sufficient for "creating" an FF 14 account then perhaps that is all that is needed to get into the Alpha.
If someone has a buddy key to share then I'll go ahead and try this out and report back to you guys.
Let me know.
Thanks,
T
It was my understanding that last month all retailers had to pull FFIV 1.0 from the shelves and send them back for refunds.
They are not suppose to be selling them.
I'm one of the people that got screwed over when I bought this disaster back in the day. Collector's edition too. Not even Vanguard made me feel that ripped off.
I hope they reach out to people like me when this "Reborn" thing is released. Not putting any money on the table for something that took two years to fix.
There's pleanty of other stuff to play these days.
Thats why you have to go to Ebay or Amazon.
Old players get legacy status....
We also get a discount.
