Arcane weapon build for Guardian

Has anyone tried out a build centered around the arcane weapons for Guardian? I'm curious to see if it is a viable build when compared to other builds for pvp, or even pve for that matter. If so what weapon would you use with said build? I was thinking Greatsword.

It is a somewhat popular build actually.

All about Spirit weapons and by extension Burning and Burning damage.

Fair amount of control with Bane Signet and Spirit Hammer, but no Stability (which is huge for sPvP).

 

Multiple ways to apply burning and do more damage to burning foes, multiple ways to apply Blind for defense and Vulnerability for offense...

Going to be a bit of a glass cannon though.

Hm interesting, I was also thinking about going a burning build without spirit weapons, however I am also torn between a heavy support role lol. Guardian is so versatile it go in so many directions it is kind of intimidating haha

That ^ is very true.

I am leaning towards a Symbol / Greatsword build, but testing it in sPvP in a stress test it just didn't have the punch (or defense) for 1vs1 but was VERY good in a furball.

However I love the control/support of Scepter+Focus / Staff build.

I just really hope Anet lets us save builds and gear sets and switch between them easily lol.

I did find that a balanced Offense/Defense build seemed to work well no matter what situation you were in, a bit more of a generalist.

Ya i think im going to toy around with the build I posted up focusing purely on burns with a sword/torch and GS. Im probably going to try so many builds though before i decide on any one of them lol.

I just feel like there is so much aoe burn in the build i threw together that it would be super effective in big fights and just as effective in 1v1. Still think I would be a bit of a glass cannon though.
