Im planning on updating my processor next month im just wondering how my comp will handle gw2. If its even worth buying to play now or should i just wait for my upgrade and get the game next month.

It is highly, highly recommended you upgrade to a current generation Video Card before you consider this game. Currently, yours rates very low -- that will hold you back a great deal.

Furthermore, try this website: CanIRunIt? Just enter Guild Wars 2

Should be able to run at roughly Med-High settings with 30-40 FPS, depending on the scenario. I have roughly the same specs as you, except for I have a GT 220, and I run the game on Medium with 25-35 FPS. (Scenario dependant.)

You'll be fine. If mine (ati radeon mobility 4670) can run the game smoothly at 25fps than yours should easily cope. As said before though, dont expect to play at high settings, most likely low/medium.

Make sure you cap your FPS (30 or 60) and enable Vsync in the video options, it will help smooth out your frame rate alot.

Try that as well. Just use the drop down menu to select guild wars 2 and see how it rates your system.

Yeah, as suggested above.. I'd run it around medium, maybe a medium low just to ensure you're getting proper fps.

what im really worried about is my cpu that thing is REALLY old. Im sure the graphics card can handle the game at lower settings

Wouldn't worry about that. My CPU is actually a little worse than yours along with my graphics card being relatively worse than your's and I can still handle the game pretty well, so you shouldn't have anything to worry about it. Also note that I run everything on medium settings except for that I turn reflections off and shadows to low.

I wouldn't worry to much. GW2 actually scales down really well. I threw a Llano rig together for my son and he's been playing the betas without issue. AMD A6-3650 2.6ghz APU + an cheap AMD card for the semi-crossfire lol and it actually works pretty well for GW2. I only got it because it and the seperate card together came to 70ish after rebates. Won't be rocking max settings but he gets 50-60fps in WvW.
