A novelty for now, but in a month or two there will be plenty of level-cap characters.

Yesterday I once again saw proof that people will ignore any amount of fun a game has to offer to exploit or grind their way to the highest possible level:
There was this "Veteran Skritt XXX" event in Gendaran fields that kept spawning every 15-20s or so from the same cave over and over again (might have been a bug), he died extremely quickly, even for a veteran, and gave a whopping 1k+ XP for a gold medal. So before you knew it, there were about 20 people standing in that cave, killing that mob over and over and over.
I came back 2 hours later and the same dudes were still standing there, instead of seeing all the interesting things that were happening all over the place they just stood in one tiny cave, grinding.

Why are people so traumatized at how easy is to level in gw2?
In gw2 your toon gets "Downgraded" and adapted to any zone and content you are facing, so leveling in this game means next to 0
So why is it bad people can level fast?
And above anything else :
Why do you even care about how others play the game?
If you think leveling fast sucks, then do as i do, try to explore everything, try all events at least once, find cool looking gear and generally just have fun "our way".
As long as the speed runners are having fun and not complaining about lack of content, no big problem.
And herein lies the problem, How long do you think it will take before they DO start complaining that there's nothing to do? 1 day, 1 week? It will come.
The problem with this kind of stuff is that these types are the ones that are always screaming there isn't enough content....Also who gives all their mats to other guildies instead of leveling their own characters?
Originally posted by Mephster Just shows how the game has a severe lack of depth to it. Not suprising though because this is what happens in theme parks.
Please tell me how levels equal depth? The more time leveling takes the more depth game has? Does not compute.
I think by the end of the week there will be tons of 80s in GW2 so while it is an achievement to be the first, beating the leveling game in GW2 isn't that much as most people find it so easy to level fast.

Ok, he hit lvl 80 even before the game launches. So what?
It's not like he ran out of things to do. He still has many hours of content to enjoy thanks to the downleveling feature.
If someone had already completed the 100% of the game, THEN I would be worried.

His leveling does not break yours.
