Is there a trade mechanism?

Perhaps I'm missing it, but it has been quite apparent with the lack of trading post available. I see people advertising in game selling stuff in lion's arch and what not...how are they doing it? Are they mailing the item and hoping the buyer mails back the agreed upon amount? It seems like it is a VERY basic mechanism in MMO's that is just...missing. Even if there was a trading post, sometimes people still prefer to do a little side trading outside the system (like say you are in a pick up group and what to trade...and don't quite trust your teammate...you want a little security right?).

Anyway, maybe I'm missing it but I can't for the life of me find a trade button. For awhile even mail was done which made it impossible to give someone anything.

No there isn't a trade mechanism that I'm aware of.  Everyone is just mailing each other whatever is being traded.  I've made about 4 trades and haven't had any bad experiences yet.  I ask them to send first and then I reply to their mail with the silver or trade items.  I guess some jerk could rip you off but to me it's better than not being able to get what I need or sell at all.  Everyone has been really nice so far and are pretty much in the same position of not wanting to get ripped off.

You can also use the trading post buy by order option to trade.

As an aside, anyone hear of an eta for the tp?? I dont follow twitter,or orther gadgets.

The last info I saw on this was posted on their facebook page Sunday:
