Salvation (sword) screams out in rage:
"A vile Minstrel! I will have that accursed bards blood!"
    Salvation pulls you into battle!
You bellow out thy challenges to the cravenly Minstrel.
You shout a deafening warcry as you begin thine charge.
You crash into Minstrel with a magnificent crunch of bones and armour!
You bring thy weapon down and decimate the heathen Minstrel!
You deliver a few close blows as you back off from your charge.

You dealth the deathblow to Minstrel.

I'm loving GW2 combat too.  I'm only level 7 on my engineer and I have the option to use my rifle, pistol + shield , dual pistols, spam grenades, or switch to a support role.  And this is just level 7!

Played:  EQ, EQ2, Vanguard, WAR, WoW, LoTRO, CoX, CO, GW2, FFXIV: ARR, AoC, Rift, TSW, SWTOR, TERA, BnS, ESO

The Scavenger, while I commend the fact that you owned up to the fact that your were wrong, the fact that you made such a harsh post and then a complete 180 before the end of the fay shows that your opinion does not hold much weight.

But seriously, way to man up

Not really as impressed with GW2's combat as others are in this thread. Like the rest of the game, I give it a solid "it's ok".

I definitely enjoy the combat enough to keep playing, and it has its own rewarding moments, but I don't see how the system is better than Tera or TSW.

They can adjust a game all day, but they can't help the issue between the keyboard and the chair.
Played: UO, DAoC, AC, WoW, EVE, TR, WAR, Aion, Rift, SWTOR, GW2, TSW, ESO, Elite:D

I prefer GW2s combat to TERAs. TERA actually have a pretty fun combat system but the way you get locked everytime you do something with an animation kinda breaks it for me.

But it can take some time to getting used to, particularly for thieves and mesmers.

    GW2 is great.

I am jumping, flipping, bouncing, side stepping, evading, pulling, pushing, blasting and sliding all over the place.

Easily the most engaging and exciting combat in an mmo I have ever seen.

With all the options for weapons and off hands and such you can find a set up that brings out the butt kicker in you for sure.

Every combo of wepons gives you a different hotbar set up and each set has it's own style and strengths.

From the hilarious (my engi's rifle jump) to the purely awesome (my thiefs leaping overhead triple side/back stab) it is just plain sweetness.

I played from the first BWE through to now and the game is getting smoother, more exciting and more dynamic every day.

Soon WvWvW will be insane and the mechanics in place throughout the game encourage "realm pride" and community and that's going to raise WvW to a very high level as it did in DAOC.

Such a good game. If you can't find what you like here, you might be done with mmo's, honestly.

Tera... if your going for the traditional MMO open world combat.  Honestly, Combat is one of the areas that makes me iffy and one of the weak points of the game. Playing it feels a bit clunky and I don't feel control for my character at all. Take away the dodge and you got a generic MMO combat system in place, a simplified one at that.

Simple doesn't nessisarily mean bad, but its not always a good thing on its own.
