That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming!

    http://www.xfire.com/genre/mmo/massively_multiplayer_online/

    In the mmorpg genre

     Guild Wars 2 (48.6%)

    ♦ World of Warcraft (21.5%)

♦ Star Wars: The Old Republic (2.7%)

    ♦ Aion (2.6%)

    ♦ Other (24.6%)

Even Swtor at his peak at start didn't top WOW. It was half of wow at best. Xfire users must really like Gw2

I hate wow and like GW2 as much as the next man but read the post above.

WOW was down for half the day including a lot of peak time and is a massive download.   Let's revisit the numbers tomorrow and see if its anything to get excited by.

The only real truth about these numbers...doesn't mean anything

Edit: I know hundreds of people outside my guild in WoW, and then there's about 150-200 in my guild.  I've never once heard about any of them using or even talking about xfire or xfire numbers...alot of people don't use xfire.  Like I said in the other posts,  it's like saying apples are horrible, because at the orange store people only buy oranges.

Well 4x as many of my firends are playing Golf than GW2.  Source?  Me.  They're out golfing.. what does it prove?   People I know (people w/ Xfire accounts)  are doing something.... woopie.

I'm better than Guild Wars 2.  100% of xfire users think I'm the sexiest man alive 1% of the time ;)

It's the same numbers since 5 days ago.

Check the same link tomorrow it won't change much.

Props to WoW as an 8 year old game, still having some "quarter share" of "people using xfire" versus a just-released-to-retail game. Impressive.

Whose side are you on again?

I haven't played WoW in 2 years, never used xfire, won't buy GW2. How many people do you suppose are in that demographic? Take tens of millions of people worldwide who play mmo's and subtract the number of GW2 accounts. That's how many people don't give a rat's patootie about your numbers.

Am I the only one that realizes today is Thursday? WoW patch was on Tuesday.... 2 days later your argument is "but its down for patch and people are downloading the patch".....

I never used xfire when I played WoW.  Everyone that I played with in different guilds used Ventrilo and occasionally a small new guild would use Teamspeak.  Not having vent would get you kicked out of raids. I doubt not having Xfire would do the same. This is comparing apples to oranges.

These Xfire topics are pointless. Comparing a game which is not even one week  old with an 8 year old one and then actually gloat about it.

    *shakes head*

Let WoW go free to play other than box sales and you would see a drastic change.

    Numbers of... what?

Numbers of people with xfire? Numbers of people playing all mmo's? Numbers of people who play any pc game? What concrete data are we to garner from this information?

People who have xfire are checking out a new mmo on its release. Show me the data in 3 months.

This is incorrect. The number of played hours is X times higher for GW 2 vs WoW. The number of players are roughly the same (8-12.000 depending on weekend or weekday)
