I am currently lvl 23 asura ranger, and I am enjoying game. Today I started thinking how is End-game. As ex WoW player it was starting to do Battleground, heroic instances, daily quests and little later maybe raids.
So what you do in Guild wars 2?
Today I checked PvP, everyone is 80lvl and same starting gear. You gain glory points, what you can buy with them?

No Endgame?!
I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. Well, there's pvp of course.
Similar to other mmorpgs, you can also do crafting and dungeons. While there are hard modes, called explorable mode, you are also scaled down to the current level, meaning, you can do all dungeons, in any mode, all the time.
Also, do to sidekicking, you can return to lower level areas and finish up the quests, vistas, jumping puzzles, map completion, etc, you want, keeping in mind that, doing so will remove content for alts, if you like them.
There's also personal story and seeing the diferent branching options.
Finally, the gear you speak of is cosmetic. GW2 does use a gear treadmill, but, you get cosmetic gear. If you enjoy power progression, which is perfectly fine, at max, the game may not be for you.
But, there's even legendary weapons which are very expensive to make.
EDIT: Almost forgot, there's no raiding content, but, Orr is suppose to be a hard content made up of 3 areas with dificult DE's.
Now, whether or not this is end-game content to you is personal. Hope that helps OP.
Just so you know... you use the Glory currency, in Structured PvP, to by "better looking" PvP gear. I think the PvP instructor will tell you where to find the vendors, or you can just ask someone in /map chat. People tend to be really helpful in this game. There's also Badges of Honor, which you get from killing players in WvW. A substantial amount of that can get you some WvW gear (which can also be used in PvE).
BTW... Here's a quick vid about the gear.
Well, this pretty much sums it up.
