i think all mmo from now need to have future plans

i see lot of mmp raise and fails, the biggest reason i recon is due to lack of content, players rushed to endgame, skipped anything in between. and when they get to the end game, everything is like a dream, reality shatters, and players went rage quit.

what i recon developers should have done is realise a detail future planning and players can gun them down with it. that should give players ideas when and what will be released, and what idea/feature is undergoing. that would let players planning out their play time and progress in game. Having future plan clearly presentated, developer can then get more feedback from players to make a proper decision.

i am not really suggesting something like "i will do this in 5 months time, or we will look in to a class change next weekend" type of planning, intead, more of a "Jan - plan is, Feb - plan is ... for 3 months, May - we releasing 2 dungeons, " etc/, a more clearly presentated programm, so players get clear vision and direction of the game.

You don't know what to change until you get feedback from a large variety of players and stats. That could take a month to sort out. Then you have to weigh up the option of what that change is going to mean for the players who did not ask for it. Will it fit in? Is it going to affect them? If its a good change for one type of player, what have we got that that we can do for the players who feel 'left out'?

This type of stuff does not happen over "a weekend", it takes planning, but then the ADHD crowd won't wait for 2 and half months for implementation of that change and then in comes new questions and gripes for new situations while waiting. Its a vicious circle and one always treading on ice with MMO players.

I hope you can see this from another view point now, maybe? :)

Rushed to endgame in a matter of days? Nothing to do at endgame? Able to skip content without affecting your character? Collect tokens and turn them in for the same exact gear as the guy next to you with little to no effort?

Get with it dude, haven't you heard? This is exactly what the players want and is the future!

    /sarcasm off

Game corporations make games for box sales and move on. Put the game on maintenance mode with a cash shop. Because why charge $15 per month when the average kid spends $28 per month in the cash shop and praises it for being "f2p"?

Why shouldn't i praise it? A majority of F2P players never pay a dime. And i am all for whoever wants to subsidize my gaming.

Say what you will, at least cash shops are brutally honest.  I'd take "here's what I got, what do you wanna pay for it?" anyday over "give me money now and I promise that somewhere down the line I'll make it worth your while with something really good /winkwink"

I think game companies do this. (Not that they always succeed) TSW has announced it's plan to have monthly updates, I have read from forum posers that Rift also continues to update on a regular basis. LOTRO adds books inbetween expanions as well.
