This thread is complaining about no ease of acces to patch notes that don't exist?
But not only do patch notes exist, they have a handy link to them on the launcher?
They also have a forum on their site that they keep updated?
And additionally to that they make comments via networking sites to keep up on activity?
...
So, what is being complained about again?
To me from my vantage point, the game is now being treated as if it is in open beta. Since the bugs were big and several, they feel they have an open slate to fix anything at this time, without notice or notes because of it, like an open beta. My guess is once they catch up with the issues, you will start to see standard notes.
Now I'm not positive whether you're just stating or once again being an ignorant #@$#@4 like people in Orr. Either way, the complete ignorance of people is astounding. 95-99% of the game does fully work without bugs, however since a few things don't its the end of the world. It barely takes a novice understanding of technology/programming whatsoever to understand that bugs are impossible to avoid. Literlaly, impossible. The amount of variables that need to be taken into account is astronomical. So crying about a few broken things, stfu, please. Most games that have been out for years have worst problems.
I don't believe a combination of Facebook/twitter posts is the proper place to do these things.
Why not?
Because as many investors recently found out items like Facebook aren't as widely received as many were led on to think.
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.
3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.

No I'm not thinking you are seeing it from thier eyes.
You are right most of the game is working but there are many things that you may not see, but they are there for a % of the base none the less.
They have limited resources and they are maxed right now.
So instead of giving great detail due to time restraints, they are just whipping the fixes into place. That is reminscent of a beta period. This is an unfortunate situation for them. It doesn't spell doom and gloom. It is explaining why you are not seeing notes. They put out a daily memo to everyone, they tell you straight up they are slammed and then give you a roadmap and in general what they did in the last 24 hours. The ceo of the project has told us this has been a rougher then planned start and they are working round the clock to fix things as fast as they can.
Now if these turths hurt, one needs to relax, it's all ok. But they are working on several issues if you see them or not and those issues have a domino of effect on many things, no detailed patch notes being one.
Of all GW2 faults this is of the least concern. If anything they owe you nothing in the way of patch notes and/or customer service since the game has no monthly fees and an extremely unencumbering cash shop.
Amazing how this argument continues when the game's official website, the game's launcher and the official wiki all have links to daily updates on the game.
While I think they need to establish a forum, I'm also actually reading the updates they give out and they tend to routinely mention being shocked at how popular the game is and how they're having to set up new servers for it as well as fix the inevitable bugs that seem to be able to hide until launch. Waiting a bit for them to get this stuff done is not that big of a deal, and you're provided with a direct link to the game update page on their wiki every time you log in. This isn't SWTOR blatantly lying to their player base, this is a company that's busy making sure things work the way they're supposed to and fixing them when they aren't and keeping people updated through the simplest most expedient means available to them. This I can have a little patience for.
Originally posted by Farzo Sorry, but ArenaNet is one of the best companies that actually communicate A LOT with their costumers, just because you can't bother reading Twitter or Facebook doesn't mean they are bad at it, it's your own fault.
Is the lack of communcation from ArenaNet to the community. Everyday I log into and there is some small patch/files I download before playing. What are these? Whats being fixed? I don't know because there is no patch notes.
There is no official forum to communicate the issues the games has either. Why?
I understand the Trading Post is down and thats fine I guess, but they need to have a place where they can communicate with us and say "We know its not working, we are doing this and it should be ready at this estimated time".
I don't believe a combination of Facebook/twitter posts is the proper place to do these things.
Your point is pointless pawn inteded
Arenanet is using current trends to better communicate with the community their combination of social media, wiki, reddit and forums is much better than some old style patch notes and forum only aproach. It reaches a lot more people and it's a lot faster as well not to mention almost instant. Even while playing the game you're kept in the loop as to the current issues and state of the game via facebook and twitter.
Now if you're old school or dislike social media I can understand why you think there's little information out there, that said it would be entirely your own fault for not embracing new technologies and trends.
P.S: the forums are present just not open at this time, they are concentrating on getting the game issues ifxed 1st.
This is calle priorityzing get with the program LOL

I agree with OP.I dont like facebook and have permanently deletet my personal account.
There should be official forums where you can read patch notes and other information about the game status.
There are more sections of the forum open now. Worth checking out!
