Perma ban??

EsLafielEsLafiel Member Posts: 92

EDIT I am unban, it was a mistake by them. So boo ya all of you that said it was my fault. I am a good player.

It funny, ive sent in message about exploit I found, I have defended the game.

Why it one of the most fun games, Ive played in years and years.

I love the game,

However went to get on the game about a hr ago. Saw I was perma ban, sent ina  ticket posted on teh fourms.

I admited, I might have been ban for 3 days. i could see that, since if I find something cool look are really cool stats. I say it looks bad ass, and I say teh f word when i am messing up like crazy on something.

However never put down anyone in teh game are anything like that.

If you ever get back in, maybe try not swearing in chat? Personally I just swear out loud at my monitor. Growing up it was my parents who got upset with this. By now my wife is used to it. A really loud F-word from accross the house means I died in game. No kids yet, so I can yell as loud as I want and say whatever. Just keep the chat clean.

Perma ban for that is wrong, second I cant.

I live with other people in a small apartment.

Could case some problems, and really sayinf the f word in ya guild chat and talking about it. Ive done it in ever game, as long as you not putting down others. I dont see the problem, and being perma ban for it, is extreme.

Well whether or not the ban is wrong is up for debate. However, Anet is entitled to run their game how they see fit. Put in a ticket and ask for a 72 hour ban.

You're assuming this is the reason you've gotten the banhammer tho. The question from the forum here is going to be what you did?

Or what were you and your guildmates up to that got you banned? It's not unheard of for Guilds to share exploits and whatnot amongst themselves. They go out in their little parties to go exploit away to try and gain some "advantage" over the rest of the population.

Not saying you did.. Not saying you didn't. But if you expect to get any sympathy around here you need to keep it real.. If you cheated and got caught then so be it..

No need to act like an innocent party when you clearly are not tho..

PM before you report at least or you could just block.

I sent message to ArenaNet, of ever message exploit I found. SO no I did not, second i already said  can see me being ban for 3 days for courseing.

So not acting like I am completely guilt free.

Saying cursing is the only thing I did wrong and even that did not use it to put down others.

So perma banning me, seems a bit extreme.

I feel you OP, I also sometimes am a little loose with the tounge when talking in chat.. and F' bomb here or maybe a shittastic there..

Maybe you just went a bit too hard in that regard... There are more words in human languages than the four letter variety..

Hopefully they'll losen up a bit on the language bannings because we do have an in-game Filter which is disabled for me.. I don't like seeing my four letter words cencored all the time and I like to be able to see when a particular player obviously has no common sense of decency so that I can block em..

PM before you report at least or you could just block.

Some people may not realize why they got banned. If you said something incredibly offensive to someone without using swear words it can also result in a ban. Yes I say swear words in frustration but it's at something that happened to me or something with the game but it's never over the top nor is it directed to anyone. I was in a part earlier and one of the members was being extremely racist and we reported him. He never said a single swear word. I am hoping he gets banned. But getting back to the point at hand, you don't need to curse to get a ban. You just need to do something really stupid and offensive which is most likely what you may have done without realizing. If you didn't I'm sorry and hopefully you find a way to get your money back by calling the credit card company.

Isn't the word filter on by default? If so, and the user isn't trying to game the filter with l33t speak, why are they temp banning so many for this? Any furthermore, why the **** aren't they showing the reason for the ban??

I wish Arenanet would just stay the **** out of what language we choose to use.

Poor decisions by Arenanet in my eyes.

I don't think it's so much the language used as it is how and to whom the language is being directed. I have seen a few players dropping f-bombs in chat, but not aimed at someone with intent. Still see those players online even now.

There are 3 types of people in the world.
1.) Those who make things happen
2.) Those who watch things happen
3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"

The reaction time to think before you speak is short, hence the reason a slip of the tongue is often overlooked.

The reaction time to think before you type is much more greater, therefore you cannot have a slip of the keyboard...

People cursing in that chat all the time kinda gets annoying, it kills the mode of the game. Use something a bit more in character when you curse at least (like "crowe" works fine for a norn).

But perma ban without warning seems a bit harsh to me as well, 72 hours ban would have gotten the message through as a warning.

Yep I would have been fine with a 3 day ban.

It not like I spam chat are anything, and only places I curse at was party/guild chat and again was not at anyone, but still I did it. So I would not have minded 3 day ban.

In private channels you can swear.(although be careful with to whom you whisper to, they might at some point be pissed you and report you, so make sure they also swear when talking to you). and use whatever language you want (according to your guild rules).

I mostly stay in the guild chat channel.

Game is PEGI 12 after all.

    Currently playing: GW2
Going cardboard starter kit: Ticket to ride, Pandemic, Carcassonne, Dominion, 7 Wonders

They have your money, there's no subscription fee, so it's no big deal to them to permaban people.

It is through, gw1 made most of it profits from expansions. Also with people buying from teh item shop.

So, if they get to bad of a rep, they will not sell many expansions and so they will go bankrupt.

First game is to get you hook, and then to keep you buying expansions, that how btp model works and can keep going strong for years.

I take it with a grain of salt when someone says they got permabanned because they said, "eff-yeah, I got a nice item" in general chat. The number of times in the last eight days I've seen people be called a <homophobic slur> because they wanted adivce, or a <slang term for female reproductive organs> because they wanted directions, or an <even worse homophobic slur> because they couldn't find a vista, or an even more colorful and elaborate <slang term for fremale reproductive organs along with a homophobic slur> because they mentioned their favorite TV show in general chat. . . no, this is not, as a whole, a mature community.

If people talk that way in genral chat, they're going to get banned. There's a huge difference between "Fuck yeah, I got a rare item!" and "Fuck you f@ggot you stupid c*nt go die in a fire!" and I think a lot of people in the latter camp are going to pretend theyr'e in the former.

My name is Abriel Lafiel, from the server gate of madness. I was lvl 41, even through I play almost 24/7. Becuase I spent a lot of that time showing people around different maps, showing the jumping puzzles. Also answering a large amount of people questions in game as well.

Look at my history on here and Guru(name on Guru is Eslighting), both and you see all of it is off me helping people and defending the game. Been following this game since nov of last year, was in as many beta test as I could and stress test.

Lastly do not know if I was ban for cursing, but I do know I say fk and such sometimes. However, it never at anyone. I do not know because they did not tell me why I was ban. I am hoping my account was just hack, and the people did something that got me ban. Which is why I sent a ticket about my account being hack as well, but explain in it. That I am not sure if it was.

Imo the censorism is bit too high in GW2. I said "Reputation". and the word "Puta" got censored from that since it means something rude in spanish or something...
