14 and counting

Yes that what I titled this thread.

Why? You ask.

Well I just made my 14th character today.

WHY THE HECK 14?????!!!!!  you scream and laugh till your eyes tear.

Because I am having a ton of fun playing this game.

In other games I made alts as well. I am admittedly an Alt whore as my son who plays the game as well calls me.

But why 14?

Each on has a different weapon set. Each one a different trait and skill group. Each a different look and or race.

Plus different storylines and personality questions to cause different outcomes. I want to see where they go.

I just like making them look and act differently. That is the beauty of this game. Will I stop making alts? I don't know.

Will I ever get past 30? Some day maybe. Oh and to answer this new question after you stop laughing again. My highest is only 20. I don't plan on getting to 80 till about 6 months from now if not longer.

A MMO is like life. It is something to cherish and enjoy upon in it journey. So why race to the end of it. In life at the end you die.

    I'm not laughing. Although I was wondering, since a class can use any weapon set at any given time as long as you have the weapons avaible.

    But I too use to focus on one kind of weapon set, to make the character a little more "personal" of its style of combat, or how you wanna put it.

     

    But most of all, I'm glad that you enjoy a game that much that you can play it and enjoy what you are doing. I belive that alot of people would play a class, then not enjoy playing it again, even if its with a different race with another story.

    Keep playing the game for as long as you enjoy it.

    I did that with SWTOR. Made the game last a lot longer and was much more enjoyable. Glad you are doing the same with GW2! :)

    they sold you 9 character slots?  cause my ce only came with 5.......

    You answered yourself in the next sentence about the weapons. I know you can learn all the weapon sets on one.

    As an example. To me a male Norn Rnager looks better with a longsword. While a Norn female due to how she moves looks great with a sword/horn combo. Then a Sylvari Ranger looks nice with an Axe/torch combo. The latter two not looking right on the male Norn. At least to me

    Mine started with five as well. I did speand money to get the other 9. So yes they did.

    I tried doing the same thing. I just have no desire to play them past the first couple levels. I've seen the almost all the DE's before, so everyhting seems so stale.

    thats the problem with most rpgs.  you have to be diggin your character and the way it fights to stick with it, if you dont, its not for you.

     

    right now i like my norn warrior and plant man ranger with his fern dog.  i use a big sword on the viking and a bow on the weedman.

     

    thief is pretty fun too with the right blades, very interesting when you mix in a pistol too, just between daggers and swords and pistols depending on which hand has which he plays very differently.

    I have a main and 2 lowlevel alts. Eventually, I think, I'll play at least 6/8 classes.

    But 14 toons so early on? Sounds a bit crazy to me, but hey you paid for the game and those character slots. So you decide what's the most fun for you. :)

    MMORPG genre is dead. Long live MMOCS (Massively Multiplayer Online Cash Shop).

    You need to get out more.... seriously. It's okay to enjoy the game and play for a few hours a week but there are limits.

    So you spent $90 on extra character slots? I could see getting 3 extra slots for one of each class, but rolling multiples of some classes? alt-o-holic

    Your son calls you an 'alt whore'? seriously? did i read that right?

    If my son uses the word 'whore' to address to me no matter in what manner it is used, i will smack his mouth and tell him to behave.

    well is is 30. So I think he can make up his own mind now

     The term is "Altaholic"

    To be an "Alt whore" would imply you recieve money for alting. Or..you have sex for alts.

    Very happy for you since you seem to be having tons of fun! :)

    I bought 3 more character slots in the beginning so I can create all professions at the headstart and reserve my names as also to receive the birthday presents for all my characters at around the same time.

    The funny thing is that even Sylvari is my favorite race and I didn't wanted to play a norn at first, only my main character is a Sylvari and I ended up having 2 Norns. :p

    So I ended up having:

    - Sylvari Female Elementalist

    - Charr Male Ranger

    - Asura Male Thief and Asura  Male Engineer

    - Human Female Necro and Human Female Mesmer

    - Norn Male Guardian and Norn Female Warrior

    Should they release Tengu as a new race in the future I will probably create a warrior or a thief by replacing my asura or norn ones.
