Have anyone seen the advertisement of EQII on the home page? Why go to WOW changing to Why go to a world of waiting? How pathetic is that?

It's all about tactics in this game. Everyone wants to be the best in the world and they don't care who they spit on to get there. It's sad but true and a lot of people realize it early and stop trying to help everyone around them. Brings a tear to my eye at night sometimes.

The sad thing is that they're right.  WoW has become a "World of Waiting."  Their servers are pathetically unstable and the customer support is atrocious.  They took the servers down for maintainance and a patch at 5:00 am pacific time this morning and, from what I've heard (I'm at work), they are still down.  I've been playing WoW since beta and its a great game in itself, but everything behind the game is awful.  Definately not worth the $15.00/month.  My wife closed her account today and I probably will as well.

It's simply SOE taking advantage of a bad time for Blizz. These are comapnies trying to make money. Can you blame them for pointing out flaws in other similar products? It's business.

As for me I enjoyed the game for awhile but the lack of support didn't exactly make me want to stay. I'm just glad I got out before the page to cancel your account went down. I would have been seriously pissed.

Good ppl that whine about the game quits thats just what the community needs.  Thank you for doing so  

I don't mean it a bad way, but if you can't live with the conditions as they are better to find something else to do. 

The wait part is a major flaw but you can move your characters to lower populated servers soon in EU too.

I have both games and as far as im concerned Eq2 is the better more polished product. WoW has awful graphics, bad community, unstable severs, ganking e.t.c. The amount of downtime that WoW players have to put up with really has to make you guys wonder what exactly you are paying 15 bucks a month for. Blizzard might be good at making RTS but when it comes to maintaining an mmorpg they have no clue ...

At least playing EQ2 they tell you when servers are going down (except in emergency of course) in WoW no warning whatsoever.

I know of several people that have been stuck in instances or just kicked out.

Just goes to show how unstable there servers are.

Having played both EQ2 and WoW I can state unequivocally that WoW is the better game by far.

WoW graphics are more vibrant and warm, the WoW character models are much more lively, the UI for WoW is friendly, customizable and coherent, WoW has PvP, WoW is solo friendly as well as having raid and group content, the woW community is very friendly and pickup groups are easy to find, the class skill options are fully customizable, and the list goes on.

You EQ2 fanbois obviously have nothing  positive to talk about your game on your own forum which is why you are over here trolling, don't let the door hit your backsides on the way out and get an invitation before coming over here next time. No one takes you seriously here as we are fully aware of your intentions.

Oviously that's your opinion Jorev, at least bugs/fixes are dealt with more promptly in EQ2 and it is now starting to become a much more playable game with offline selling, in game mail and better organised quest log.

WoW has PvP, which means nothing until the honour system has gone live.

I have no problems with WoW servers. Sure its annoying sometimes to get thrown out but i never had a situation where i was thrown out and unable to play. Maximum it was a 30 min server crash, and that happend only once. Usualy when im thrown out, i can play right away after loggin in or 2-3 minutes after that.
I do agree on the server issue with thos few troubled servers, they should of fixed it in 3 minths by now. I dont know why its taking them this long, I have a feeling they are outsourcing networking/server maintainance with another company. If you have a flat tire very often, you dont blame the car, right? The problem is with support and development - it sux.

It'll never work thought.  As a matter a fact, it just makes their reputation look even worst.  It shows that they are desperate.  Cause no desperate company needs to go dissing other companies to make themselves look better.  You're either a good company making good games, or you suck and no matter what you say, your games will suck.

Agreed.

Both games have flaws, and some I personally see as bigger, long term ones.   All the misinformation about both games, but mainly WoW, has been used by everyone, including now rival businesses.

In fact, only 1/5-1/4 (about 20-25) of WoW's North American servers are having issues, and they have definetly been improved over time for many.  Character transfers have also helped.  Overseas they aren't having any issues minus patch day issues (and EQ 2 also has had some pretty large patch day issues...EVERY mmo does it seems).

The reason we have issues here in NA is because whoever did marketing forcasts for WoW at blizzard and made the bandwith/server contracts with AT&T is an idiot and hopefully was fired.  Now Blizzard has to re-mod all its contracts with AT&T because of this.  This doesn't account for ALL the server issues, but a majority. 

Now on a side note, this last patch has really upped the graphical quality of World of Warcraft, almost staggeringly so.  The new hardware tune ups, new models, redone underwater effects, redone enviromental shading, and all the other visual upgrades are very stunning compared to WoW's last graphical "rendition" (last patch).

OH, I haven't confirmed this, but the lastest patch to WoW added a /pizza command.  But supposedly not what you might think it is...anyone have any details on this?

1) All those who hate the current situation in WoW do us a favor and quit/cancel and move on.

2) All those who are currently playing another game besides WoW, rant on your own forums don't come here stirring up trouble.

3)All those playing WoW as of now, carry on.

Seriously, think about it........with all the big-wigs at SoE thinking up things to dethrone WoW the best they can come up with is a TECHNICAL issue that will eventually be fix? Whoever is in charge of marketing needs to be FIRED! Come on think of a flaw that is part of the game......story, gameplay, graphics........anything but GASP! Server stability! I can see it now......

SoE exec: "Why are their server problems in WoW?"

SoE hotshot: "Because they are overloaded with subscriber..but I think it can work in our favor."

SoE exec: "How's that moron? Don't we wish WE had that problem?"

SoE hotshot: "No, no, no hear me out....we can say WoW stands for get this.....WORLD OF WAITING! LOL get it??!"

SoE exec: "And what if people question WHY they have to wait?"

SoE hotshot: "Well uuhhhh other than the tech issues we can't find anything subscribers don't like about the game."

SoE exec: "Oh that's just great moron! But we'll run your ads and when they iron out their server issues....YER FIRED!"

Blizzard just implementing a /pizza command. Are they desperate, too?

All I hear from EQ2 is how SOE is actually listening...

Players wants solo instances - They got them!
Players wanted better soloing - they got it!
Players wanted offline selling - They got it! (Or they're getting it soon?)

I hear their servers are stable, GMs are good, etc. etc. etc. I know this is all just what I'm "hearing", but checking the EQ2 forums there is ALOT less complaining than here.

SOE pushes out a new free update it seems like every week. And one *huge* patch(bigger than all the content in WoW added so far after launch) for $5.

The fact is SOE is trying to make their game better, and Blizzard is just sitting on their ass pushing out a new instance every few months. The only real content since release has been two instances(one of which is buggy as all hell), a few quests, and minor class-changes.

People said that SOE was a lazy company, etc. etc. etc... now they are actually trying, pushing out alot of content, and now you find a different reason to complain? Maybe you should just finally admit you're a fanboi?

Of course Blizzard should have PvP honor system and battlegrounds out *soon*(6 months), I mean, they've only been hyping them since early beta.

And who says EQ2 is losing players?

i really dont see why everyone says eq2 is losing players. my server has actually just had a huge boom of new players (at least on qeynos). ive noticed the lower level zones are starting to fill up again and theres more people LFG in zones. im actually very happy with the state of eq2's population.

also, if someone can point out a post where ive ranted over something over here, please do. i try to be as fair as possible to both games and give each one a fair chance and i cant think of a time ive openly bashed WoW.
