I'm sure the launch wasn't smooth but besides trading post being down i had no issues at all, no lag, got DC'd once ( bought on release and played pretty much 3 days straight with 6 or so hours of sleep each day )
Everything just worked for me on Piken square.. Atrocious launch just seems to be pushing it >_<..
I should probably mention I'm by no means a fanboy as the game is already feeling quite stale, but anywhere over a 100 hours in i feel I've had my moneys worth first 80 dinged and now the game feels sort of pointless.
What, what, what!?!?!
Hang on this game has been hyped by the rabid fan boys as being the second coming of MMORPGs. They say its a PVP based MMORPG for PVPers.......
Yet, your experience is that the game feels pointless when you reach max level?
Great PvP MMORPG this is then, so glad I have learnt to wait and see how MMORPGs pan out these days...I almost bought this game based on the rave hype but it seems almost every single piece of hyperbole has been a load of rubbish!!
The game launch was not the best
The only way to level is PvP or rehashed Pqs from WAR...where is the rest of the game? Particularly if you are saying end game feels pointless.....I was regretting NOT buying this game but the more I read on these forums the more I am changing my mind
And you use THESE forums as a base for your decion making? I'm terribly sorry for your loss. But that's just silly. Try reading some honest reviews from 3rd parties(not IGN or any of those guys) but people actually playing and enjoying the game. As they will be able to clearly outline the features for you. If you think DE's are just PG's from WAR then you obviously have never played, seen a video of, or even touched an information about GW2 before. I suggest you try it first. At most you, what, lost 60 bucks? As apposed to losing 60 bucks plus 15(xhowever many months you play) and you can pick it up any time you want after that. Let's try to be a bit more realistic in the approach here. Either that or you're an alt account with 5 posts and these words are wasted.
The biggest concern is that there are active players in this very thread stating the game feels pointless once you ding max level. That cannot be good for a game marketed specifically as THE PvP centric MMORPG to rule them all....can it?
I tend to find sites like this, whilst sometimes inflamatory, are usually honest reviews / concerns rather than trusting the paid off review sites...maybe I will buy it and try it but damn...reading these forums lately....the game just seems really mediocre jack of all trades master of none to me atm...

What you also don't realize is that 'these' forums in particular are full of fanbois, haters, skeptics, trolls, sarcastic naysayers, not-so-sarcastic naysayers just to name a few. Sure there are a few honest reviews here and there, but you have to take everything with a grain of salt. I've seen quite a few troll or hate filled reviews fromm posters who have clearly never played the game as some points made in their posts are completely fabricated.
So trust this site at your own risk, but honestly, go form your own opinion. It's 60 bucks. Yeah yeah yeah, this economy blah blah...it's 60 bucks. Now if it were something with a sub that required you to dig in for a few months to get a feel for it, then I'd say no...hold onto your money and wait for more info. But I will say most people who are enjoying the game are playing it 24/7 or close enough to it. Those guys really don't care to go write a review as they're having so much fun they couldn't have a care in the world. I really love this game, but I also have a full time job, so I get to sit on these forums as a means of passing the time.
Hi,I'd like to present the view of a non-vocal player who actually enjoys the game with minimal exposure to the forums. My gw2 /age shows 286 hours logged since lauch. That's around 14-15 hours a day.I have a lvl 64 thief with around 60% map completion.I am R15 in spvp,I have a couple of lvl10 alts.I don't feel like I've seen half of the game yet.
My experience with guild wars 2 the past 20 days has been like this.First I did some map exploring till my 20's and then I got overloaded and wished I could play some nice single player rpg away from it all.So I did.I fired up the personal story. Then I thought "why not give spvp a try".It sucked me in for a week.Hot joinable spvp is like Team Fortress 2.Non stop action all day long with minimal setup time.Click the browser, start killing people.
It made me completely forget about pve for a week.By the time I was ready to go back to pve again I remember thinking that I'd gladly have payed $60 even if the game was spvp/wvw only.I had this much fun.Through the pvp chests,my thief now looks like a trenchcoat wearing assasin. Then I went back to exploring cause I got the urge again, then back to the story and so on.During those times I took breaks to sell stuff on the trading post.Made around 20g by selling mats, sold half to get around 3000 gems, bought 2 character slots and bank/bag slots.
I understand many people feel like they have reached lvl 80 and the game feels pointless. That's fine, everyone has their opinion.Having said that I now hav eto leave.I plan on hitting R20 in spvp today for a new tier of loot and if I have time I'll go explore Timberline Falls,a zone I discovered yesterday that looks like Skyrim in GW2.

I have been playing quite a bit and grouping when I can with my kids and some friends. The game exceeds the $60 purchase price...expecially if you can get 286 hours of enjoyment out of it!
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.

still gonna be most played.
no matter how much you guys troll it, some random statements, shit happens. and blizz never cared.
"I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up! Not me!"
Certainly it is the most played game in my house over the last three weeks.
My wife and I have logged more than 100 hours each...and we're enjoying every minute.
Nice attitude and I'm glad you are enjoying it.

I am gonna predict it now MoP will be 1/4 of the bump people are saying it will be.
