Ok, I've just been reading this topic... I really don't know why (I was playing my guitar at the same time and I prefer not to focus on my hands... if that's any excuse). And it dawned on me

PEOPLE ARE ALL SAYING THE SAME THING. Isn't it beautiful? If we noticed it more often, there would finally be chances for world peace.

So, for all of you who were gonna say

1 Go in "contacts": one of the tabs is "looking for party". There you go

2 You don't need a LFG, be more social

DON'T SAY IT it's already been done and the only thing you're doing is burying the information!

    Here's your answer OP

If you personally don't need this tool - don't use it. And let others decide what's good for them, OK?

It does not work that way.  LFG change game.  Whenever you personally use it or not.

    No it doesn't.

True, it makes game more convenient for people who aren't stubborn enough to shun this feature for no reason at all. But if you HONESTLY prefer getting groups by spamming LFG in public chats - more power to you and others who think it's fun to spend hours on something that could be done within minutes in fully automatic mode.

MMORPG genre is dead. Long live MMOCS (Massively Multiplayer Online Cash Shop).

You know people have their reasons you just not think they are valid. I would prefer other way to get groups - there is middle ground between LFG in public chats and automatic + teleportation. If you think it if fun to push the button and change mmoprg into lobby game like Starcraft II then more power to you.

I got no takers, so I repeated my request perhaps 5 times in 15 minutes or so. Then I tried to repeat my message one more time and found out I am now blocked from chat. It says "your message was suppressed due to excessive messaging" . I was in no way spamming. They have removed my ability to get a group in a game in which they failed to provide a group finder tool. The really funny thing is a gold seller has been spamming map chat for 12 hours straight now and they can't stop him. Everyone was complaining about it in map chat. But they can certainly stop me from asking for a group. There is no way to speak to a GM either. It's like the lights are on but nobody is home. All I can do is submit a ticket and hope in a week or two they might answer it. This is getting ridiculous.

    1. I didn't saw any gold seller quite a long time. Mostly because my whole guild always just block report them. Even when we get some via PM. We just PM nick they used and we report that. Working like a charm. Also gold selling is inefective since you can get as much gold as you can get via gem system.

    2. LFG tool is really useless in this game. Why ? Pick up any point in the map and I can guarantee that you will find players there :) This is awesome part of this game. Even on remote locations you will always find peoeple. Also - join the guild. We have guild that reached it's limit and whole guild are members of one website that started this idea. When I want to do dungeon I just say that I want it and there are always people that join me. Seriously - join a guild or ask people next to you.

    3. Yeah, they could add LFG for people like you. I assume you are solo player without guild. For that kind of people this tool could be useful.

    4. Don't spam chat.

    /sigh

    There's a huge difference between pro-LFD and anti-LFD.

We, the pro-LFD, simply want to have an *option* that will allow *us* to play like *we* want. We don't tell you how to play and what to do.

In the meanwhile you people think you know what's best for everyone. You want *us* to play like *you* want even though we paid for the game exactly as much as you did. You're a bunch of egocentric masochists. And you're a minority. Like "1%" minority I mean, albeit extremely vocal.

    We're the 99%.

5.) Don't be ignorant. My whole point is that I did not spam chat. I used it as the devs intended to attempt to find a group. I was not excessive or offensive.

6.) The debate continues, however I no longer have a horse in this race. I could care less.

I still think the game needs open groups warbands.

Little indicator on the top of the UI saying 4 open groups in your area.

Click it, see group 1 is looking to run a dungeon
Group 2 is running a de chain
Group 3 is running another de chain
Group 4 is trying to work out how to access a jump puzzle

Click group 4 "hi guys I haven't found that one either, on my way over, sounds fun"

Like wise for WvW with notes like "disrupting supply", "defending keep x" and what have you.

Also show them on the map.
