Hi folks,
I'm currently looking for the most realistic sandbox or hybrid. I'm looking for something that makes you feel your really in the world. I want the wind to blow through my hair. I want the ground to get muddy when it rains. I want to get worn out if I swing my sword to much. I want to build a house, raise chickens, plant a farm and cook my own meals, I want graphics to be good (not great). I want PVE and PVP. I want most things in the game to be player crafted. I want the leaves to fall off the trees when the wind blows to hard or when fall comes. I want it to snow and than stack up.
Any ideas?

While it has a lot of flaws, Xyson might be your game.

Xsyon was a very ambitious game that fell short. If you want meaningful PVP and territory control you should wait. If you love to terraform, gather, build, and craft then it is a great game.

If your willing to wait 5 years, Embers of Caerus (eoc) will deliver on all those points. Has light fantasy aswell, but no unicorns more like cyclops and skeletons. You really should check out their feature page.

If it weren't for the good graphics I would recommend Ultima Online [mod edit]). It has a lot of aspects that seem to be important for you. But on the other hand, I think you are looking for 3D game? As already mentioned: Xysom, Mortal Online, Wurm Online. But I think neither of them come close to your idea of a realistic SB. Sorry!
But if you find one, PM me please
MO like the others is skill based. You need to eat and sleep. If you eat something bad you will puke. Everything is in first-person so if you look down you see your body and your privates if you are naked. Horses pee. You can drink from rivers. Crafting you need to extract and refine metals. Etc.
In terms of realism Mortal Online strives for the realism feel. Now Im not saying this game is perfect because its not. There are bugs and the developers (in my opinion) foster a RPK-game, instead of a more RP game with some RPK elements.
In the end its a very ambitious game that the developer has so far, fallen short on. Even so after this you are left with a game that has elements that if you've never played I recommend to just for experience. You wont get your hand held at all and I would recommend joining a guild for help.
And to answer your crafting question, MO crafting is pretty awesome(once you have all your skills). You need to extract/refine/crush materials in order to craft the materials. For example gather wheat, and place it in a crusher type thing to get flour. Add 60% water to that in a fermenting jar to get beer(there is no drunk effect yet). You can make any type of armor or weapon with different materials. So I can make a sword out of all wood including the blade if I wanted to, or I could make the blade steel and the handle all wood, and different woods at that.
Now if it sounds like Im coming off as a fanboi, Im not. I have played the game for 2 years and realize every stinking one of StarVaults faults and love them and hate them for it.
