Ps2 Resources and how to obtain them?

I've been playing the beta for a few days now and have noticed there are four resource types (plus Station Cash and certification points) available in the game.  Of the four basic resource types, how does one obtain them and what is each one used for?

Any info is appreciated.  Thanks.

Yeah they basically just throw you in the game with no knowledge. You spawn at your groups warpgate without any information on how to do anything. I'm sure the retail game won't be like that though.

True, but it makes it hard to test and even assess balance in the game when I don't know what everything does.  Took me a while to figure out the cert thing too.  Heck, I don't even know how to leave Beta feedback.  the beta forums don't seem to be postable for me and I can't find a "give feedback" option ingame.

Check the beta forums.  Each section has a variety of sticky posts at the top explaining things like resources, etc..

you faction must own the base to get the resource the base gives out. Check on your map and it shows you in the bottom right corner how much resources your faction are gettting. Every now and the resources are given to you depending on how much influence your faction has over the resources and stuff you know????
