Hi, everyone I am one of the two founders here at MMORPG.COM.  I am the second man down the ladder from good old Admin and I just wanted to stop by and put up a poll that I hope you will all answer honestly so that we may better understand how you all feel about our site.

Please vote honestly, you will not be graded and feel free to write any suggestions.  We will be paying a lot of attention to this post in the upcoming months.  image

    Only problem I have with this site has to deal with the forums.  When you reply to a post under Options, Subscribe to the topic is always checked, so if I forget to uncheck it my inbox will be filled.  I can check the forums, I dont need every message in my inbox.  So if the default could be unchecked, that would be great, yeah.

    I believe if you look in the top right corner of the screen (right under your Inbox) you'll see a green bar that reads "Your Account Settings" click that

    then look to the right and click "Alert Settings"

    Uncheck all the boxes you don't want to auto-alert image

    Indepth articles about MMORPG aspects.

    I.E The 10 $ a month where does it go!?
    The copy and paste a MMORPG Plague

    Give some of the visitor a chance to be on front page with articles they wrote and make it both a front page article and a forum discussion ( Unknownplayer.com does that )

    You could also get some more writers and have more interviews with the Gaming industry development teams ( although im not sure how feasible that is )

    One thing that could definitely give you more Hits per day on the page is a daily poll on front page where you ask question and you could also see the previous day poll and results

    well that all i could come up with ...

    Yeah I have changed from my initial post and want more articles.  Review some games, get respected comunity members to write some reviews, do a few interviews with games in development.  Just make sure the reviews are interesting, not just "My grandma could play this game" and ask interesting interview questions, not like "What is your average day like?".  Be creative.

    Allow for members to change their reviews on games.  I am tired of seeing "This game rocks" and "This game sucks ass" and that's it.  Reviews coming from someone who has only played the game for 1 hour.  When they get done in about a month or two, their opinions might change and they might be ready to write a useful review.

    How about trying a 10 point scale for game ratings instead of a 5 point scale.  It would spread out the games a bunch and perhaps make it better.image

    You can enable auto-login by going to "Your account settings".  There is a checkbox in your main settings for this feature :)  In the future I will try to make this option visible in the main login area...it is just pretty cramped right now...

    The staff at MMORPG should review the big MMORPG games (not too many) i already got suckered into buying Star Wars Galaxies. (someone probably already said something about having the staff review games but i'm seconding it)

    This just hit me.  While looking through gamespot I realized that MMORPG.com does not have any movies.  How about when you click on a game to get more info one of the tabs can be movies.  The tab next to screenshots maybe.  Then you could put links to movies, but actually hosting them on the site would make them faster to get to.

    I'm just full of ideas.

    Any chance that for each game there could be an average ammount of players online at given times.  Now I know that most MMORPG do not like to advertise thier subscription numbers to the competition, but wether or not people are playing a game and if it is popular is a big factor for me.  I don't want to buy and pay for a massive multiplayer ghost town.

    Maybe you could convince some games to send you statistics on their average players once a month.

    Actually videos are something we cannot offer.  The main reason would be the cost of bandwidth.  Every time someone watched a movie it would cost us around $1.00.  I don't see getting that money back right now.

    Gamespot can pull that off because they buy a whole lot larger block of bandwidth than we do (especially when you consider their entire mother company) - so they get it likely about 70% cheaper than we do.

    Also, even Gamespot had to start locking up areas of their site for members only becauese they were going under financially.

    I take it that you're not alowed to make a direct link to the movie?

    And it would be cool if there were some one that rankt the games, someone that know what he is talking about. Like stars for what the pulic think of the game and then maybe tumbs up for what one game critic thinks.image

    Ya, linking to movies and screens is OK - but only if you link to the page where the movie is on and credit the source.  You cannot link it in such a way that it appears to be on your site.

    We are working on separating staff rankings from user rankings.  I am also working on a "curve algorythm" that might help adjust the game ratings based on multiple factors.  Not sure how this will work though.

    better smiles like box smiles, also come on the bandwidth cost you damn, i cna help there unlimited bandwithfor 3 dollar :) but getting back to topic, maybe a enterview and some new features in teh forums like stickys and closing forums and announcements

    i feel the homepage is overly cluttered with information.

    the player rankings of games leaves alot to be desired. to many closed minded 12 year olds who give the game the absolute lowest score and say "it sux mah ballz" or something equally unenlightened without specificaly saying what in the game needs fixing. perhaps staff reviews of games. or even appointed reviewers who aren't necessarily biased.

    i would honestly like to see more moderation of the boards.  on more than 20 threads on the first 10 pages there is obligitory trolling and general spam outside the spam forum threads...  it gets annoying after a while.

    Let me get this right: The dragons breath knocks you over the 300' cliff onto the jagged rocks below and you want a saving throw?
