Borderlands 2

If you were a fan of the first one, do yourself a favor and pick this one up ASAP. What a gem.

If you haven't played a Borderlands game yet, it's a cross of a first-person shooter with a random loot generating system. I picked the first one up a year or so after release based on a recommendation by one of the users here and I wasn't disappointed. This one is even better.

OK. Here's my question though, I have played the first one. I enjoyed it quite a bit, 259 hours of joy to be exact. I have played the game 8 times over(all the DLC as well), with all 4 characters. I have beaten crawmerax, with my friends and alone, I even knew what stats a prefix or suffix would do on a weapon. I am completely burnt out on borderlands, can I still find any enjoyment out of the second one? Or is it just more of the same?

The more I'm around the forums on this site, the more bitter I become.

Borderlands 2 does everything better but if you're burned out then I'd pass. Can't fix burnout.

  • I started a Commando having not seen many previews for him before release. Was I delighted when he turned out to be voiced by the Warmage from Orcs Must Die. Actually....he pretty much is the Warmage personality-wise.

My favorite weapons have been Tediore so far. When I first picked one up it said something about exploding on reload, wasn't sure what that meant. And then I used it and realized you don't reload them, you just throw it and let it explode when you're out of ammo and digi-struct a new one.

The insane sense of humor is still there, and the game has had me laughing constantly.

I never gotten into Borderlands 1, dunno what the reason was cause I did order Borderlands 2 and never thought of getting B1 and got it yesterday.

While I am still getting used to the game so not familiar with much of it, but the little droid Claptrap at the beginning cranks me up. The humor is great. It's been a long time ago that I was playing a game that makes me laugh that often.

In lots of way's it's a new type of FPS game, while there are a few that had a similar fibe like RAGE, but that game sort of disappointed me due to it being pretty limited, where I already feel B2 is the better one. It also has a a Fallout fibe to it but then in line with F1/2 for it's humor.

Didn't give meself much time to play it yet due to lots of work (rl) but will get into it today again and looking forward at playing.

Wondering should I get Borderlands 1 aswell , or is B2 so much better then B1?

I also must say that I watched the Borderlands review : http://www.gametrailers.com/reviews/67hmp4/borderlands-2-review and was a little dissappointed at the graphics look in that review, but think that the review must have been on console cause the game looks so much better with me on pc.

Time often fixes it, but it can take a few years.
