Still, there are people around just they won't be in the drones that launch had around. Many who do play are probably in WvW, PvP, or farming the high level areas. Its not THAT vast (though no mounts does help to create that illusion) but for the most part your probably not looking in the right places. If your expecting launch numbers a month after, you got some crazy expectations even if this game was all the hype brought it up to be (which its not).

B2P has only been seen as a draw for the game. And it is, but it's also a revolving door. Just as easy to walk away with no guilt.

i have found more things to do in GW2 already that ive seen in other sub based themeparks. I guess its everyones opinions floating around here. Im glad it has no sub and already im waiting to see whos the next developer to make a crappy and inferior WoW clone again and try to add a sub. I honestly wont ever pay a sub for a new mmo unless its superior than WoW and GW2 combined. Otherwise ill stick to those 2, one free(b2p) and one rented(sub)

I barely keep up with kills in some of the scenarios, because so many people are there attacking the mobs.  It could be my server is full, and yours isn't.  Try another server because mine is full.

Of course, you could be trolling, just to cause a bit of mischief.

OP, try switching servers. You're EU or I'd say come over to Jade Quarry, it's always full in any zone I go to.

Hey! That's awesome! It's great that you were able to find a game that you can call "home". And all the stuff you can do and why you love it so much. But I was talking about why the game may be experiencing some fluctuations in on-line populations.

Same server. the zones between 15-65 are completely empty especially on off hours. I'm playing a single player game at the moment. Hope they implement the guest feature so I can exp on a high/full server.

why not just transfer? they are still free once a day

    because

    1) my friends and guild is on that server

    2) the wvw queues are bad enough on my medium server, if I transfer to a high one I will probably never WvW again.

Because all those P2P games from the last years have done so well in retention? It has nothing to do with the model if people stop playing.

Don't know which server you're playing on, but I'm constantly running into players in every zone.  EVERY ZONE!  This is from the starter zones, every capital, the end-game zones, Lion's Arch is always full.  This game is PACKED.  It counters ST:WOR, where the game's zones became empty 2 weeks after launch.

All those P2P games? Don't you mean some? Why is it that SWTOR is going F2P and why did FunCom have to fire half it's employees? what was the overall feeling on those games? No endgame. TOR sucked and TSW while it didn't suck, it was less than expected. And yet, why is it we now have Rift gaining a little bit of momentum with their upcoming expansion? Yes, it's small, but its there. Because you have great development that costs money. And WoW, well, WoW is WoW, and they have many reasons for bleeding Subs, but their P2P model isn't going anywhere for a while.

As many before me did , I can only ask  "What server are you on?" I play on EU Gunnar's Hold, sometimes during the day, but mostly late at night to dawn and there are always lots of peeps around. I have all classes on different levels, but whichever I play I can always count on other players being around in most zones.
  • JuaksJuaks Member UncommonPosts: 271

What are you talking about? there is plenty of people everywhere. What server? what city? If you want to see people go to Lions Arch. Thats where we hang out....

And comparing to TERA would not be fair sice TERA has only 3 servers and GW2 has more than 20 only in NA.

Werent ANet closing the sales of online copies since they dint want to overpopulate servers / open new servers or somesuch? And still barely 1 month in they are losing population on their servers?

This guy dint even take the effort the veil his disbelif that GW2 isnt filled to the brim with players, across all servers and areas and timeslots just because his server is full, at the moment.

OP, you should have stated your server name, that way the special kind of people wouldnt imply that you are lying but would only be telling you to switch servers.

Some people feel that because their current server is populated, that means ALL servers are alive and kicking. And even if their original server isnt populated, they get a free transfer out and into a high population server and...the population is STILL alive and kicking!! Facing the problem and acepting the facts arent on the agenda of any fanboy (not only talking bout GW2 fanboys but in general).

BTW, I consider GW2 to be a good game, but not at the level that some misguided people want everyone ELSE to believe. So am I also a troll and a hater since I dont keep pushing the [GW2-IS-THE-BEST!!] Card across the table??

From my experience there are certain zones that are PACKEDDDDDD and certain zones that are DEADDDDDDDD!

Some of the zones have fun and unique DE's that run a good chain and give good loot so a lot of people hang out in those zones. I'm at 98% world completion so I have been to them all. Some of them I ran through and completed the map without seeing one person.

Straits of Devestation constantly has 50-75 people running DE's. Kessex Hills and Queensdale seem very popular also.

People spread out a bit. Most of the time, I see around 5 people in DEs on my server (Gandara) and that's how it should be. I don't think zones should be packed full of players, like the newbie zones were in the beginning. You're on one of the lowest-pop servers, though, so maybe the situation is different over there.

Not sure what server you are on, but on mine I only mentioed to the GF yesterday that I was impressed with the amount of people in the lowbie zones still (as I was working on completion).

I see people literally all over.

I think MoP is going to do well for a month until folks find out it is still WoW and not then not resub. I will be playing both, but after updating the WoW client and logging in 2 days ago, it felt like going from steak to hamburger. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of WoW but it didn't feel the same after playing GW2. /shrug

I'm going to give the Panda/Monk thing a try though because WoW is simply a great game. It won't be my main anymore!

Seriously, people? You're still asking what server the OP's on? He's already told you, and it's been quoted by another poster. It's Seafarer's Rest EU. Apparently the server's not doing that well.

There *are* many active servers in EU, though, and I play on one. You can't get a DE to yourself, it's always like 10+ people, and on some mobs I have a hard time even getting a shot in. Even champions are zerged to oblivion in seconds. And yeah, don't even try getting into WvWvW.

Still, I'll take that over a ghost server any time.

You are not alone a bunch in my guild used to play but most barely play anymore and all I see is posts on our forum where did everyone go.  They got tired of the same old WvWvW as there is no penalty and no real endgame.  They did last longer than I thought they would til they got bored.

But 2 or 3 players every hour? Where the ¤%& are you camping?

2-3 players every minute besides really odd times and places is what I usally see, and I play on a medium sized server.

So is the op asking a real question or trolling? What's next? "GW2 is bleeding subs?"

Here's the thing. The game was released and a lot of people bought the game, so there was people everywhere on every server.  Now the game has been out a few weeks and those people are spreading out. I for one am glad not to be moved to the overflow server every time I log in.

Add to the fact you can still move to a new server for free and I don't see the point of the op's thread (besides a fan of Tera trying to bash GW2 and suggest its failing).
