So I was one of those who waited for GW2 for a long time, and was very excited though not über hyped like a lot of people were. I pre-purchased and played all of the beta events and stress tests when I had the time, and I liked it a lot. Release came and I still liked it. But sometime after a week or two since the release I just didn't feel like playing the game. Nor any other game for that matter.
I burned out on the MMO genre a couple years ago and hadn't played any MMO for any significant amount of time since. I only tried Tera and TSW, which both confirmed my hate for the genre. I didn't even want to bother with SWTOR as I knew it would be a game that would emphasize all the aspects I hate about the genre.
So what happened that made me stop playing GW2? I have no idea. I'm not hating the game like all other MMOs, and I'm not having the time of my life either. But I do like the game. And I really want to enjoy it.
I'm not exactly sure what I want to get from this thread - maybe just thoughts from people who are in the same boat. Is GW2 boring or am I bored of gaming in general? Not that I feel an urge to be into gaming, but there's not much else to do a lot of the time (don't misunderstand this, I do have a life, but I also got sparetime to kill sometimes).

Boring is subjective, of course. Based on personal experience ,GW2 is anything but boring to me. It's possible that you do have an MMO burnout going on and may simply need a break from the genre, or perhaps your overall interests are drifting from gaming in general... it happens. I know I had a stretch after Lich King where I was quite burned on the MMO scene and the carrot chase. Did Eve Online for a number of months, but even that grew tiresome after awhile (great game, however) for me. Breaks are good. If you need one, GW2 will always be waiting.
BUT!
Yes, but... check in around Halloween for the holiday event. The Mad King, if true to form from GW1, is a ton of fun. Halloween events in GW1 were my personal favorite... seeing the world redecorated (even the moon itself) can give you a week or so of simply kicked back silly fun without the commitment or "worn down" feeling.
Oderint, dum metuant.
If you can get bored in GW2, especially after having played it and enjoyed it in beta, I'd say you're probably burnt out.
For me, I can certainly feel the potential for GW2 to cause a burnout. From launch all the way to about 4 days ago, I devoted ALL my free time to it. I've recently reminded myself that I'm NOT in a G-D hurry; I didn't buy the game to have it take over my life. I bought it to have something to play when my sub based MMO starts getting dull, but instead it's totally taken over.
Anyhoo, if you don't want to play, then don't. There's nothing to "quit". You just don't play til' you feel like playing, again.
