    "What I was hearing from the people playing the game in the beta, what we were hearing from the community around the game, what we were seeing on websites and so forth gave the indications that it was going to be very successful," he said. "It was quite a shock - everyone on the dev team was quite shocked."

    Ask 100 Twilight fans which is the best film - Twilight or the Godfather part II, and you will get a 95+% vote for Twilight.

    It's a danger of being a niche - fiercely loyal fans, but you really need to consider feedback in that context. The niche can be a blessing only if you understand the curse.

    Anyway Eve was a niche game when it launched, and AFAIK that story had a happy ending.
