Originally posted by Galadourn the animations are actually top-notch. They have set up a motion-capture studio to record all the animations for players and NPCs. I find that hard to believe. Compared to the orginal yeah its an upgrade but thats not saying much.
they did set up a motion-capture studio, back in 2009. What's hard to believe about that?

That's not hard to believe.
However, their work so far sucks (in my opinion based on the original post video). Having a "motion-capture studio" and utilizing it correctly are, obviously, two different things.
well, the animation of that man running with the 2h weapon is as realistic as it gets in terms of motion. You may argue that it doesn't look pretty, but if you or me try to run around in a similar fashion with a 2h weapon unsheathed you'd see that our motion would look the same.
not every game company can afford to produce 5 million dollar rendered hype vids before the game releases(like swtor or deus ex etc), they are like most other pr vids just very misleading anyway. might not appeal to the masses, but thats not the goal.
Darkfall has had my attention since the beginning... and since Adventurine is doing the rather extraordinary gesture of letting former players who bought Darkfall 1 play without buying a new game, I'm certainly going to give it a try.
If it's a grind-heavy nightmare like the last one, it'll amuse me for 2 weeks and then I'll step out of the way of serious gamers, like the last one.
I do have a great deal of respect for Adventurine though. It does show competent, big projects can be made by indy companies.
