Advanced crafting,

I've played many crafting games and to date the must indepth game I've played is Wurm Online.  With that said, I would like to know if anyone knows of a similar game that includes advanced tech (like Wurm but say we can invent new materials).  This would allow for new tools, equipment, etc.  Thoughts?
