This event has brought way more content that I would of have ever expected!

I have enjoyed it even more than the original Halloween event in GW1,and that is A LOT!,

It was my favourite event in any MMO... so figure out!  ;)

I can wait to see what they´ve got for us for the November update & Christmas Event!!!

    Great Halloween Event Arenanet!

Mining candy corn was funny.  Carving pumpkins - cute.

Brawling - kind of dumb.  Lore quests - meh.  Quickly done and somewhat lackluster.  Haunted Door encounters - more fighting, meh.  Dungeon and other stuff - passable.  Jumping puzzles - OK I guess (I still and trying to muster the motivation to do other vistas).  Artwork added nicely to the feeling of Halloween.

I didn't like how the acts were released slowly.  All it did was add a disconnect, and after waiting days for the next act, it became more of a struggle to want to log back in.  I would have rather had them all at once.  Everything in the Halloween event could be done for an achievement & title which is pretty useless, since there is no achievement inspects and social structure in GW2.

What I will remember from this Halloween event is Candy Corn, a huge shennanigans with ArenaNet imposing gambling into the cash shop, and a very clever, mischeveous song (The only song in the game worth mentioning).

only parts that were in the cash shop were a couple outfits and if you wanted to buy keys to get extra shot at skins and that's it.. how is that the good parts with everything else it offered? your opinion i guess just seemed odd to me as after act 1 cash shop was hardly talked about.

Also 4 pets in the cash shop (3 basic + 1 mystic forge), obtainable nowhere else.  The cash shop stuff consists of items that persist long after Halloween is over, which is important to me.  The pets > outfits because they can be used anywhere.  They cost $$.

Of course it's my opinion - hence the entire jist of this thread.

I get how you would feel liek that.Soem Peopel are collectors and it's a valid play style...and yes people who feel they need to have all the pets for instance have cause toh ate the cash shop or feel exploited by it.I myself enjoyed the event but can understadn why this prevented you from doing so also.

That goes for me, too.  I haven't bothered with any of the events because the rewards for time invested didn't appeal to me.  Mind you, this is how I treat ingame seasonal events in most games.

I actually preferred Warcraft's approach to their Winterfest event where you got presents under the tree.  It sort of felt like Christmas Day what with everyone running around controlling little robots, blimps and whatnot, showing new mini-pets, riding reindeers and having snowball fights.  It skipped the tedium and just cut straight to the fun.

I really wish they wouldn't waste time on this kind of nonsense when there are real issues that should be being worked on. It's the classic BS of give a whole bunch of mediocrity and most people will love it.

Maybe you should stop video games altogether and do more serious stuff if you don't like fun content...

Given that it pretty much set the new standard when it comes to how these seasonal events should be handled, as opposed to just placing a few decorations here and there and giving some tokens you can spend during the festivities, I'd say it was pretty damn awesome. Can't wait to see what they'll do for Wintersday.

It was when I found out that Anet hates 2 races and purposely make parts of the game harder for them.

The jumping puzzles that were required if you wanted to get any holiday special achievements, were much harder to do if you had a max size Norn or Char.  The jumping puzzles were obviously designed around the dimensions of the Asura, such that they faced avenue wide paths, while Norn/Char faced paths that were a fraction the width of their characters. Combine this with the fact that the overall camera is borked and more so for large characters and you have a game company intentionally penalizing players for choosing a particular race and size.

It is the same as if they had designed an instance where the ONLY way to progress was to ranged attack a boss over some obstacle which if you were too short, would be impossible, leaving it doable only by max height toons.  If they did that the QQing would be monumental.  Instead they penalized tall characters and if any complained, ridiculed them for not liking being made the butt of the joke.

If so, i am sure they did this on purpose, as Anet is the big evil after the demise of Blizzard.

Its just incredible that they give so much for free in this subless game, that you realised how much old time companies slacked. After hearing of how much new content the 15 November paatch will have, its clear they truly try to set new levels on this.

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

Liked a lot of the content, the MK encounter was fairly interesting.

Didn't like the lag since so many were concentrated on a small area though.

Really thought the 'Clock tower' jump puzzle could have been handled a lot better; the ANet dev admitted this on their forums though.

Overall a solid content that most enjoyed.

Not sure what the 15th of Nov update is but apparently it'll be bigger which is cool.

So I guess you heard a few complaints somewhere and decide to parrot them. You clearly didn't participate from what you post here. There were no jumping puzzles, plural, that were tied to the halloween event. Just the one. The others that got added are a permanent addition to the game. Also the clock tower was an achievement on its own and not tied to the overal Halloween event achievement. Having done the clock tower with all races I can say Charr is the hardest race to do it with due to a difference in timing not because of the camera. Asura had the most camera issues. Yet people didn't fail because of the camera or not being able to see. They failed because they didn't have the skills or were to slow of a learner.

What?? some people managed to get the full armor set AND finish the tower? I hate you!

but in all seriousness, this was an incredible event.

1 Lunatic level - the craziest hide n seek game ever! great fun. spent at least 5 hours on it

2 Rumble thingy - fast paced, challenging and required strategy to win, well developed and fun

3 Labyrinth - crazy drop rate, easy money and loads of fast paced battles

4  Mad King fight - drove everyone crazy, as it supposed to, but quick enough with good rewards to do it over and over again

5  scavenger hunt - I regret not reading what the ghosts were saying as it seemed like a good story, reward was awesome too at the end

6 pumpkin carving - meh...i'm not completionist maniac enough to do this 150 times for a title...

7 Clock tower - never speak of this to me again, altho this has to be the most challenging level in any mmorpg I've ever played. I hate it with a passion

I review lots of indie games and MMORPGs
