Maybe I didn't understand it right, but it looked like the person who recorded the video was actually lucky and spawned on top of someone, killed them with his hammer, and took their stuff.

 

Stupid things like that are why I refuse to invest my time in perma-death or full-loot games.  My time is worth more than that.  I'm still not sure what this game's rules will be like, but it seems like I won't be playing it.
