Punkbuster is really bad... EA uses it in BF3 and dear lord there is a lot of hacking in that. I hope they use their own in-house system as perhaps that will be able to protect their game more.
Anyone know they will use there own inhouse anti-cheat system.
I pray they wont use Punkbuster, remember aion? God lets hope not.
What's bad about that?
I don't know, so I am asking...
My biggest problem with Punkbuster is that it doesn't seem to want to recognize itself much of the time. I can't tell you how many times I've been kicked from BF3 maps because of some Punkbuster conflict, same thing happened in MW1. Sadly, Punkbuster doesn't do much for anti-hacking either. You can go out and search youtube for examples of how hacks get around punkbuster.
Unfortunately, there is always going to be hackers in any game you play. I really hope they have their own in-house anticheat system in place though. I really don't want to have to run some 3rd party anti-cheat system for a mmo.
Most of the data is server side, so not much will be hacked. The biggest issue they will have are botters/macro users and gold sellers (like most MMO's)
"Moderators: yes, we will have full CS support on the live servers, including being able to handle TOS violations and harassment. We take player experience very seriously and as much as possible won't allow disruptive players to make life difficult for others."
Should be of some help at least, depending on how many there are...

Just cause they are standing around 'on live' servers doesn't mean much at all IMO. Though, I'm less worried since they quickly addressed how much information players will visually have access to 'SEE'.
NOBODY wants a repeat of this unless you were one of the ones abusing it--RIP DAOC.

Punkbuster is a walk in the park. Gameguard is the one to stay away from.

I would assume opening days there will be (if they are fully staffing) at least 1 per zone. Quell the 'yellers' and unstick the stuck ones.
Should be interesting to see how it goes. I'll just use /ignore liberally for the less appealing chat persons
