New Elite game on its way..

For those who remember the Elite series of games from the lates 80s to early 90s it looks like they are finally getting around to making a new one

I lost many many hours playing these games and whats even better is thats its now going to support multiplayer I cant wait just wish there was a bit more info and some earlier vids of the game on the kickstarter page..

Still i think ill be keeping an eye on this thats for sure..

Anyone else have fond memories of playing these games ?

The Elite games are some of my all time favorites. I grew up on Frontier and still have it in its original box and play it via emulation.

Here's hoping Dangerous will be worth the (15 year) wait, assuming they manage to raise the funds.

Elite vet here, I hope they get the funding to create this.

I remember running drugs and dropping into witch space for the alien battles.

In all honesty: It's a weak pitch, basically depending on just the name.

Why would I throw money at this instead of Star Citizen?

The key part is procedural generation of content. Since I started keeping an eye on that Infinity project (as far as I know, the guys gave up about creating a game and decided working on an engine instead) I have been thinking that every company should really start working into this. Aha, so you want content? There you go, bazillion planets, you won't be able to eat all this content even if you don't move away from your computer for the rest of your life.
