    Then just change game.

There are so many F2P games that there is enough free content to play for a long long time.

Oh come on, that is an argument for the industry to eat itself and produce nothing new. I am not talking innovation, that is an argument to kill of the gaming industry which actually has to fund MMO's.

Again, someone missed my point. F2p games need to grab my attention right away for them to be worth it, because there are so many free to play games. However if I am finacially invested in the game I feel more obligated to look for what makes the game fun. So, yes, I play games to have fun, but f2p games must both be fun on the surface and deep.

15$ is fine problem is when some devs try to milk it in other zones using retarded logic like 15$ = 15 euro = 15 pounds

This way in some places sub price is almost 2x higher :/

I feel exactly the opposite.  For a P2P game, while I have money invested, it's also an ongoing expense.  Therefore, I won't play any P2P game without a free trial so I can be sure it's worth my initial investment, plus it has to keep earning my monthly fee or I'm going to stop paying.  For F2P, it doesn't matter.  My only investment is space on my hard drive.  I can leave it there for months without playing and it costs me nothing.  When it stops being fun, I delete it, no harm, no foul.

Played: UO, EQ, WoW, DDO, SWG, AO, CoH, EvE, TR, AoC, GW, GA, Aion, Allods, lots more
Relatively Recently (Re)Played: HL2 (all), Halo (PC, all), Batman:AA; AC, ME, BS, DA, FO3, DS, Doom (all), LFD1&2, KOTOR, Portal 1&2, Blink, Elder Scrolls (all), lots more
    Now Playing: None
    Hope: None

Sorry mage but you really didn't make it that clear what your point was in that post, thanx for clarifying.

That makes a little sense to me anyway.  Problem with the sub is you still have to make a pretty hefty investment to actually play the game and find out if those feelings about it were correct.   At least with F2P it is try before you buy.   As for the pay 2 win argument, I refuse to accept that that holds true for all F2P games and I would say really only applys to a small percentage of them.

No, the real problem with the sub model is as you say.  I feel obligated to play them.  I may even like the game.  A lot.  Some people here keep saying $15  a month is a small price to pay.  I agree it is good value.  But you should have a choice when to pay it.   If I don't feel like playing the game for a month, or let say I even am unable to play for a month, why should I have to pay??  That bothers me.   And I know there will be some point in any game, most likely within 6 months where I am going to say, I need a break from this game.   Ok sure you can drop your subscription, but lets say you have a few beers and all of a sudden you think..... damn I could really go for a few hours of "X" game.  You can't !! until you resub for the whole month.   The fact that a sub is an all or nothing deal is what turns me off of this payment model.

Only in the very rare instance would I get into this type of game now.  Possibly Archeage if it lives up to hype, we will see!
