new player info?

Hi,

I have been playing eve for a while and want to try something different now.I am not a hardcore gamer and wondered if I would enjoy playing SW and JTL about 5-8 hours.

Some of the things that I would want out of SWG

having unpredictable events like wars out of the blue with other factions.

Buying, selling, trading goods that are legal and illegal?.

Not to have to spend 20hrs a week to ramp up my character to have better missions.

Thanks in advance

i have to say that you would enjoy playing SWG for 5-8 hours a week. BUT i think that once you start playing you will end up playing more because you will want to be able to do the tough missions that no one wants to do with beginer players. YOu wont have to play for a long time to become really good because if you grind skills you can apparently master some combat proffesions within a few hours. Note: I havent tried this but apparently it works for every one else.

War is not unpredictable in SWG. You chose if you want to be attackable by imperial/rebel NPCs (go combatant) or imperial/rebel players and NPCs (go special forces). Guild wars are possible in SWG, but rare ... such wars are more common in EVE. And despised by the non-fighters in a guild for the same reasons here and in EVE.

Buying, selling, trading, crafting legal goods ... one of the best things in SWG ... thats where the game really shines.

With illegal goods this is in its infancy  (spices, sliced weapons and armor are searched for in contraband searches by NPC patrol teams and imperial probot scans ), however we know that very soon there will be a HUGE revamp of the smuggler professions introducing smuggling missions of all types.

You WILL need to invest some time in SWG to master a profession or three ... but nothing stops you to join guilders in a party/group and get the better missions right from the start. SWG is MORE grinding than EVE because in EVE you get better over time, wether you are online or not. In SWG you only get better when you are online and doing things. Often the same things repeatedly ... as in almost every MMORPG except EVE. This mastering can be anywhere between 2 hours and 1.5 years depending on profession and how much you play (I was master shipwright in 2 hours and it took me 1.5 years to master pistoleer cause I am a lazy git :-).

    Have fun
