SWTOR in slow mo(video)

Just for kicks I recorded a couple videos of lightsaber combat and uploaded them at .25 speed...great animations and hilarious sound FX.

Somehow you've managed to make Swtor combat look worse than before.  But in slow motion you can at least tell that the light sabers don't even actually clash or touch half the time.  Or that lightening doesn't even seem to phase your character. 

 

I mean if it amuses you to do this Im all for it.  But it certainly doesn't make Swtor look.......any better.  It makes it look far far worse.

I agree. Weird concept.

Even the mobs look more bored then usual, waiting around to be killed.

OMG, luckily it's 4 times faster normally. At least that way it's not that obvious how bad it really is.

Curious, what server do you play on?  I'm on Jung Ma but I've noticed the other servers appear to be of  a heavier load.

The Ebon Hawk. Mostly on imperial side but have toons on Pub toons too.  Funny that Empire Side has most of the time double population comparing to Pubs LOL. Are we all so bad

I don't think its that.. at least for me... I just think combat animations on the sith side are much more appealing..

No. I heard the combat was great, but the game, like my spelling, was terrable.

Just wanted to throw something out there besides GW2 or SWG. (I tire of hearing ToR isn't SWG 2.0)

Well, Tera did exceed at combat.  I'm not sure it had absolute combat precision though.

I'm sure if you take all MMOs out now and watch the combat in slow-mo, most would look rather ridiculous.  This whole argument seems rather silly because it just seems like this is another attempt to just nitpick at SWTOR.

You are right, it does sound nit-picky.

On the other hand, ToR has had serious issues with lag, combat animations, combat displays, and that whole global cool-down concept in general. (Most seem to be engine related.)

So yes, saying ToR's slo-mo combat looks dumb is nit-picky, but then saying it's GCD tab targeting is just as good as any other game's is pushing it too.

Well its not lag.  All I did was load fraps, hit f9, record for a few seconds and set playback to quarter speed.

I'm not a huge fan of machinima but SWTOR has so many cutscenes and animations you can build just about anything with some clever editing and spliced-in audio.  There's some funny SWTOR videos out there but I haven't really looked for any serious attempts at creating new SW stories.
