Aw... I also want a key. -hehe-

Neverwinter got me more hooked after I found out TESO went faction locked. i wanted to explore the whole world, not be forced to do so with multiple characters. =(

    Also I'm a huge D&D fan. ^^

I'm sure it'll be a fun and successful game for the couple of months it takes for folks to run out of glowy beams to chase.

    Its not sub-based right?

Just a question... What's the daily part of the daily skills/spells that can be used more then once a day?

Hm, visually it looks good, and I am a real fan of Faerun.

However, the action combat sounds like it would get a bit dull doing the same 3-4 attacks over and over through all the game. And... is there anything else but shooting mobs? Looks more like Diablo or something.

I agree... but i'm sure it has skills.. afterall it is an mmo.. He stated that the "basic skills" were mapped to left and right click.. which would imply that there are more... how many more is left to be seen.

If it's like most action combat games, they merely upgrade attacks, with very little variety and certainly no ability to use multiple abilities on the fly without having to cycle through menus or use of the scroll wheel, which I find tends to be either unresponsive or diffiicult to select what you want accurately and as quickly as the game demands.  PS2 comes to mind when using the mouse scroll wheel to change weapons.  It's clunky and terribly easy to over scroll past your intended choice.  But then again, I am not a fan of action combat and I can already see a bit of pushback from the community with every MMO embracing this philosophy and completely throwing out tab target / hotbar slower paced combat.  Something tells me this is a vocal minoirty controlling the genre just like the raiders and PvPers and there will end up being a lot of self correcting in the near future.

Pretty sure it won't be. It will probably be closer to TERA/RaiderZ with skills and combos on hotkeys.

While I was watching this video, I was wondering to myself what ever happen to D&D computer games when you could only use so many spells and had to sleep to learn them again? This rapid fire magic has got to stop! :) It's not just this game, but also others that have rapid fire bows, or super spinning warriors and their two handed swords.

I understand it's a game, and magic isn't real, but I would like to see a bit more reality or thought put into new titles.

I'm not knocking this game, it looks good and I will play it, but it looks to action oriented to me!

They've did that before.  They are boring.

Sorry I disagree. Rapid firing magic missiles do not make a game exciting, at least not to me. Tactical placement and good gameplay could easily make up for over done arcade action gaming. Sorry, I'm old school and never got into the Nintendo style rpgs. /shrug

Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.

It's ok if you disagree, just recognize you're in the minority.  That's why we're shifting away from that type of combat.  It wouldn't have ever taken root in the first place if the tech was up to par for action combat when MMOs started coming out.

You're right, rapid firing magic missiles doesn't inherently make a game more exciting.  However, you're assuming that the only angle to that action combat is rapid firing of magic missles.  You're discounting the possibility that there could be a synergy between skills and that positioning and tactical placement matter.  You're saying that there is only rapid fire MM and that's all there is.  That might not be true.

Also, while rapid fire magic missiles don't make a game more exciting, neither does the static combat of hard tab-targeted d20 combat.  There is nothing exciting about standing in place and watching the rng make a dodge roll for you.  There is nothing inherently exciting about a standard skill rotation with 40 additonal situational skills on a long cooldowns.

The excitement and engagement of each system depends on how well it fits with the rest of the game not with a piece of combat mechanics taken out of context.

In a nutshell, and I'm not trying to be difficult, but the video of the mage rapid firing MM looks terrible.

The MMORPG genre is losing it's complexity. Not being rude to others that may like this style, but I feel it is being scaled down to target younger players.

I don't think I took anything out of context if this is what you are referring to, I just watched a video and pointed out the obvious. I wasn't saying the game was bad, just a portion I didn't appreciate. :)

Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.

Action games aren't limited to consoles, never has been. I very much welcome action MMOs. There is a sea of traditionnal MMOs and also tactical turn by turn MMOs.

Lickily I can enjoy both, but old-timer, do a search on Divinity Original Sin, this is the truth for turn base coop.

Slow down there turbo. All in good time, I look forward to enjoying NW, but no reason I can't then enjoy TESO, whenever that comes out.
