Many old WoW moments but I decided to post something more recent. I have loved watching and being involved in Warcraft evolution. When I found my first Lore Scroll in MoP I was hooked just as much as when they released Arch in Cata. Which I was very hooked on also lol. A defining moment in Cata was when I got my Fossilized raptor mount. The WoW moment of MoP was entering the seat of knowledge and then listening to all the awesome stories from the scrolls I had collected for my red flying cloud!
My girl friend has been playing WOW longer then I have and jumped on Pandora when it came. I havent been able to get it yet
I was looking over her shoulder as she was finishing her quest to get her first dragon mount. Then she pulled me over each time she aquired a new dragon mount. They are pretty cool. In fact I have been rather impressed with Pandora as a whole, watching her as she plays.
I have a couple of favorites. Number one would be when my friends and I stood shoulder to shoulder to defend Stormwind when the Burning Legion attacked at the end of beta. We fought our toughest fight, but we were no match for the might of the Burning Legion and thier endless "chicken" polymorphing lol.
Second would probably be the first time my guild and I defeated Black Temple 25man, which I still hold as the best raid ever. The epic fight with Illidan was one of my top 3 best boss fights ever, all 3 are tied really.
Third would be at launch, when I first logged into Durotar on my troll warrior Gravarg. After about 3-4 levels in, I said to myself in a giddy-school-girl voice "I'm in LOOOOOOOOVE!!!!"
I had screenshots and videos of all 3 of these, but unfortunately a tornado decided to run over my house and completely destroy my computer...I never even found a single screw from it /sadpandaface
I had my level 6 dwarf warlock at the newbie area just outside of stormwind upping my faction and there was a fight between a Pally and a Undead Lock (both max level 60 at the time). Anyway, I was dotting the Undead every chance I could. The Pally died and the Lock hadn't noticed my dots and he died too. I sent the Pally a tell that "we" got the Lock - I thought he was gonna die again just laughing. He gave me some gold so I could get really nice gear. One of the most fun times I've had in game.
I've met many people while playing this amazing game and the conversations and funny moments i've had with them will forever be my favorite experiences.
However, one in-game moment I will never forget is getting the whirlwind axe on my warrior Te back in 2004 on the Gurubashi server. It was a really subtle thing and you could only use the weapon at level 40. But since the first day of logging in and leveling, I was constantly told 'Wait till you get the whirlwind quest! Then you'll be doing crazy damage!"
Looking back, it seems funny since it was such a low level item, but it definitely stood out for me. I loved that axe.
So many great memories playing WoW, but I'll never forget my greatest from classic Vanilla. It all started with the skirmishes between Tarren Mill and Southshore, but on May 5, 2005, the Honor system was released. I immediately aspired to become a true champion of The Alliance. It was a monumental undertaking to say the least. I fought in countless battles in WSG and AV (June 7 '05) and looking back at it, I can't believe it was only about 5 months (it definitely felt more than that), but after about
150 days straight of 16~ hours/day (2400+ hours) of PvP, I was exhausted, my computer overheated countless times, a part of my motherboard melted, WASD on my keyboard were gone, my mouse and mousepad were disintegrated from constant use and the top Alliance guild (well equipped from MC & BWL) farming CPs by "stomping" PUGs had nothing but contempt for me for being just some guildless nobody taking #1 standing every week except once but I finally attained Rank 14 Grand Marshal (Top 0.1%, 60000 CPs?).
I went on to do a complete 360 the next 2 years and join The Horde and join a guild to try out the 40-man raids afterwards. We got to the point where we cleared Onyxia, MC, BWL, AQ, & 2 wings of Naxx in about 5 hours with no wipes , which was not bad for back then but even that didn't come close to the sense of wonder and accomplishment I felt from my solo PvP endeavours. To me, it's not just a fading memory from a beloved game from 8 years ago, it's something I'll remember for a lifetime.
Come to think of, favorite moemnts owuld go all the way back to vanilla times when everyone was a newb and a lot could happen. Probably the first "wow!" factor for me was when after a succesful UBRS raid (yes you could raid those places back then!) me, my friend and 3 people we've met during the UBRS run decided to 5 man scholomance. Back in those days people rarely bothered 5 manning it because it had some annoying encounters and generalc onsensus was that to succeed it's better to go in group of 10. We started around 1 am and only about 4am we finally managed to clear the whole thing in huge part due to the hunter in our group who knew exaclty how to pull one of the bosses without dragging along any adds. For all the effort I also got the headpiece I kept for a long time (till about WotlK) - the druid set headpiece which was deemed a duck hat.
My favorite moment in WOW happened a few months after BC was released. My wife and I decided to battle each other in game near Halaa in Nagrand. What started as a simple duel between her Horde Hunter and my alliance Paladin to decide on the night’s dinner; Call for Pizza or have me do the cooking. The fight spiraled out of control when our friends jumped into the fight (and on ventrillo) to help decide what we were having for dinner. The fighting both in character and on ventrillo was epic! The in game fighting spilled in to Zangermarsh and Terokkor, The taunts and name calling on ventrillo added fuel to the fight.
At one point my wife and I sat our characters on a hill and watched the chaos before deciding to go out to eat. When we got back an hour or so later they were all still on vent arguing about who won and fighting in game. Since then my wife and I decided to settle many arguments in various games and much to my dismay she has become as ruthless in game as she is loving in the real world. Yes she wins more often than I like to admit.
US Open beta , 2004, I have created a Night Elf rogue and my first " WoW " moment was when I saw ENTS (Ancients/Protectors) for the first time, followed by second "WoW" when I realized that the whole NE starting area (along with Darnassus) was in a fact a crown of a giant tree...
When Temple of Ahn'Qiraj had to be unlocked by working together of ALL characters of all levels on server... Each and every player could work and get items needed to unlock the instance.
Rewards for the work were nice, but the community was really great on each server - horde and alliance working together, selling each other needed items on neutral AH to try and get ahead of other servers... Really the best moment of WoW for me, I still wonder why something similar was never attempted again...
My best gaming memories came from ol' WoW back in 2007 or whenever it was. Oh, how I noobed around, drooled on SM armor and worshipped those great enough to have been into Molten Core. *sigh*
My favorite WOW moment was when I stepped into the areas of Wraith of the LIch King, the snow and cold environment looked breathtaking. Along with the undead enemies everywhere was amazing!
the only thing that i can remember is the first time i saw the first WoW cinematic..its just soo epic..buum budum dum dam dam, then a trigger sound then bammm..soo awesome
My favorite moent was when I leveled my first NE rogue and went to IronForge by foot to see that airflield near it before Blizzard did everything you wasn't able to get there in vanilla WoW.
My most memorable moment was when I was sneaking into the Origammar area to catch the infamous Black Lion. Being an Elf Hunter I was feeling the aniexty of being seen any moment and being killed by a swarm of Horde higher then my level.
I used my catching pet skill and got him the first try. I was so happy I ran all around the open safari fields playing with my new Lion who I named Onyx since his fur was shiny black. I loved being able to catch new pets they were like my kids. Mists of pandaria has me highly intriqued. I've been thinking of giving it a try out but haven't had the time since it's the holidays.
My best moment in WoW was when I finially got my wife to play back in BC, she leveled a hunter and I leveled a shaman. Things have changed a bit since back then so we don't play together in game as much as we use to but I still enjoy the days when she does log on to level together.

My favourite moment in WoW was exploring through the whole Kalimdor on a level 20 hunter, dying many times and exploring really awesome areas.
At that moment, i really adored WoW's scenery.

NEW IDEAS that can refresh the STALE state of MMORPGs
