It's all those Mayans waking up from their slumber. They are calling out to their Alien Overlords. It's the beginning of the Mayan-Alien Zombie Apocalypse! *grabs tinfoil hat*

It's Arctic Ice breaking. The sound travels for miles through the water.

I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

It's probably my snoring.  I had a cold and when I have a cold I snore in my sleep.

To the mid West as well?  lol!

A sure sign that you are in an old, dying paradigm/mindset, is when you are scared of new ideas and new technology. Don't feel bad. The world is moving on without you, and you are welcome to yell "Get Off My Lawn!" all you want while it happens. You cannot, however, stop an idea whose time has come.

I've been hearing it too for nearly 10 hours now.

Oh, yeah this is why: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l71gaZnYgOU

Could also be earthquakes. It's possible for an earthquake to be heard, but not felt.

    Here is an interesting thought.

Yellowstone explodes every certain amount of years...and it is pass due. Yellowstone is a Supervolcano, and as far as I know, no one really knows all the signs of them about to go off. Of course, there are the dead animals and plants being found all in Yellowstone...there are signs its ready to go off within the next 10 million years.

However, could a Supervolcano cause these deep resonating sounds? Creating "sound waves" that send throughout the world or however it would be caused? Supervolcanos DO effect (or is it affect?) the whole world...so why would it not have symptoms elsewhere other than where it is located?

Yellowstone would take out quite a huge portion of North America and probably into Central America when it goes off (not if, but when).

No one online has come up with the Supervolcano theory (which would likely be Yellowstone, its only one I'm aware of that is active (or most active)...but its an interesting thought.

Yellowstone's super-volcano may be due for an eruption at any time now.

Yellow Stone hasn't been acting up, not that that is a guarantee of anything, science don't know how it will build up.

Uturunca on the other hand, has been acting up for 20 years or so.
