If you played the game you'll know that you can rebind the keys and also that you get to choose control scheme the first time you log in.
Most people seem to prefer space and wasd (plus shift for the more advanced stuff), when jumping and flying. I do it myself and the controls have never felt awkward to me.
So instead bashing a game you obviously know very little about, do some more research and perhaps your criticism will be taken more seriously.

Or how about just take it as opinion. Now that I remember, it was the holding shift as a modifier while trying to jump/fly. It completely takes my hand away from WASD in order to move, therefor the stumbling block. Yes, I know you can choose a control scheme, but of the options none are like WoW/Rift/Lotro/EQ2 etc, now are they?

Played the game for the first time yesterday, played for aprox 5 hours. The free trial does allow for up to 10 hours of playtime between the first two days and then an hour per day thereafter.
I like what's there, but ultimately it's lacking a couple of key elements that are deal breakers for me. Ambiance and atmosphere are critical for my long term enjoyment of a game. I know that I am in the minority on that though, so not knocking the game, just not for me is all.
The combat was awesome and the range of motion was great. Jumping roof to roof was a lot of fun and the systems that I experienced were interesting. Things like protecting your school's secrets and the bounty system seem thrilling. The world felt very open and explorable to me. The UI didn't bother me, the cash shop looked fine to me. I would imagine that anybody who isn't hung up on little details regarding ambiance might just find the game worth checking out. For me though, combat and range of motion is so much less important than things like day/night cycles and dynamic weather systems.
It's beta though, I will watch from the bleachers to see if they add the things that would complete the experience for me, and if so I will certainly reinstall and buy some premium time.

AFAIK the beta is only for the localization, the game has been running for months now in China. If those features aren't in, I doubt they will be added soon. Also, in my experience, chinese and korean games are stronger on things like combat and 'systems' but very short on the packaging...

Better off playing the Russian beta that's happening at the moment. This version of the game is much better than the US one - the graphics seem sharper and the UI is better (especially the chat/system text). It also has some slightly more advanced features, like the meridian system, which isn't in the US version.
After playing both it seems Snail Games US is really short-changing their intended customers. I hope the EU version will follow the Russian one, and therefore be more like the current released version in China.

I could have sworn I saw a snow storm in a video before I downloaded the game, but when I asked in game I was told that there's no weather system.
I definitely feel that what is there is strong, there's a ton of systems in place that I feel are done right.

Totally agree. The lack of weather and a day/night cycle is pretty weird in a game like this. It would have been great with some interesting systems being integrated with the time of day or the weather.
Still, the game has so much going for it that I have no problem ignoring the constant, never-changing mid-day sunshine.
