EverQuest 2 and World of Warcraft

WackoGunWackoGun Member UncommonPosts: 38

I like to know how you feel about EverQuest 2 after playing World of Warcraft.

I played EQ2 since it was released for 3 months then I cancelled my subscribtion because I liked to try WoW but  after about  6 weeks I liked to try EQ2 again so I reactivated my acount and start playing, but while I was playing I found the game suck really hard: slow UI, battle system, REAL sucky controls I didnt like EQ2 anymore after WoW that was weird cus before WoW I found EQ2 The R0x0r.

What about the people who Played EQ2 before WoW? do you feel the same about it?

The EQ2 vs WoW threads were boring a couple of months ago. Now they make me positively suicidal.

Just play what you want. IMO they both suck so i don't play either.

Well, I think if you like WoW better..play it.

Or at least that is what I can gather from your post, it is rather hard to understand.

Both are great game's it all comes down to personal preference.

If you want to try a good game without paying any money, download the AC2 free trial.

I do have to admit, the AC2 trial was fun, until all of my friends quit.

I must contredict Jorev for the fun of it.  WoW is worser then EQ2 image  I would rather play WoW then EQ2 if it was down to this meager choice, but what EQ2 did, they did it fine and right on target.  EQ2 is like a very nice seafood restaurant, I dont eat seafood myself, but I can recommend it.  WoW is like McDonald.

Pff WoW vs EQ2 rabid fanbois are so old news .Get with the times you are boring us.

played EQ2 over 3 month have a 50 monk, only been playing WoW for a week have a 16 warrior.

I like EQ2 but there were 2 problems for me. I didnt like how at higher levels you couldnt do anything without having a big raid guild (which will probably be the case for WoW). I Didnt like how the diffrent armor skins looked pretty plain and everyone looked the same.

So far in WoW i love that i can craft and use the items i make, and crafting isnt as complicated than in EQ2. I LOVE that everyone looks diffrent and all the items i put on myself shows up.

Good that they could laugh at themselves, amazing that they put a link to a competitor's website!

They know everyone is going to that competitor's website anyway...

    My opinions, having played both:

EQ2 is a game designed around preventing perceived player abuses (i.e., locking combat to prevent KS'ing, instanced zones to prevent conflict over camping mobs, altering mob AI to prevent trains, Heroic opportunity wheel to reduce dual boxing, etc).  As such, EQ2 comes across to many as a very restrictive, linear, artificial game.  It does have some nice eye candy, however, but mostly in weapon and armor graphics.  Game world graphics seem sort of flat.  Content is either lacking or very repetitive.  Lots of zoning.  [I give it two thumbs down and am done with Sony.]

WOW is a game designed around fun and freedom of play.  Very large (huge) beautiful game world and you can simply take your character in any direction.  Racial abilities and racial starting cities make playing your character's race more exotic and meaningful.  For example, starting a first level warrior, with 8 races and starting areas to choose from, can mean 8 different gaming experiences (and not the grinding repetition of the Isle of Refuge as in EQ2).  Crafting system is very simple and workable.  Interface is layed out almost perfectly and the game needs no tutorial.  Character graphics are a bit too cartoonish for my tastes and this was an initial turn-off, but I have worked past this.

Overall:  WOW is a much better game.  EQ2 is less fun than working on an Excel spreadsheet at my job.

Translation: Crafting for complete idiots 101, You cannot fail.

Dont get me wrong, Im not a fan of crafting in EQ2 either..but to call it crafting in wow is a joke.
